Good question- I'm not sure either. A lot of their blacks are not true black at all.

OK, don't QUOTE me on this, but I believe they're all for the most part "black" but they're different textures. I'm looking at a sheet of Raven right nowand it's pretty gosh, darn black.

Shucks, I should have paid more attention when I took a tour of their warehouse!

No.. I'd definetly say that blackest black I've found is "Coal".

HI!
'ebony' is the darkest because the 'classic' texture is very subtle and doesn't reflect the light as much as the others....

I have 2 blacks in my stash and don't know which is which, but there is definitely a difference.
Have you tried emailing Bazzill? Or calling?
It would be interesting to see what their take is on this. Guess this is where those swatch books come in handy.

I totally agree with this. It's a rich black...I love it...but now it's discontinued and I am looking for more black card stock.

Since many of the Bazzill blacks are hard to find I've been using American Craft Black it's good and black and doesn't tear if you use it for things like hinges on minis.

I needed to order black a year or so ago and went into my local scrapbook store. They immediately pulled out a box of swatches or samples by color so I could pick the shade I want.

I would imagine any local scrapbook store would have the samples they use to order from which would show which is the darkest.
