use plasters's mesh tape as either a mask to paint on cardstock or lay strips on wax paper , paint whatever color you like , let dry then peel off wax paper and use on your LO. Looks really good on masculine and /or halloween Los.

Buy old children's books at a second hand store...some of the graphics are wonderful for vintage pages. Color copy on your home printer if you don't want to use the original. I picked up a 1967 nursery rhyme book today for a dollar!

Don't throw out that old encyclopedia { who needs it now with the Internet at your finger tips} I punch scallop circles out of the printed pages , stain with ink or teabags, layer five with a brad in the center, ruffle the layers in toward the center...they make gorgeous flowers! I'm addcited to them!

Watch for clothing tags next time you are clothes shopping. I've got some really great ones lately, especially on jeans.

These are so nice, I am now hunting DH's books for something that will suite my needs. Let's hope its one he doesn't need. Although I just got rid of the perfect books a month ago. My old Accounting GAAP books (out of date) but I may have a copy of the tax act around here which would be perfect.

If you only need a short piece of paper, cut it out of the middle of the 12x12 sheet and then you can still use what's left as a full page border for another lo. On the other side of that, if you just need a page border, cut out the middle and save it for another project.

I punch small flowers out of scraps that are really too small to save, but still large enough for the punch and keep them for future projects.

After I've used my cricut I've taken the negative part and used it as a stencil and inked an image from it. Example, I cut out a flower and used the flower negative space and sponged a pink flower, with a green stem and a yellow center (in the flower itself). I'll use that trick again and again because it turned out great!

You can also use the negative space on used letter stickers sheets. Cut around the border and stick it on cs or pp to match your page. You get double duty from one sheet of letters this way:)

How do you use a flat iron for heat embossing? That sounds extremely interesting.
