I just got my new Cricut Expression today, and I've been playing around with it and tried cutting two things...the first one - the paper (lightweight cardstock) stuck to the cutting mat and ended I up tearing the image not to mention the rest of the paper because the cutting mat was so sticky. The second one, I used a heavier (normal) cardstock, put it on max pressure and it didn't cut all the way through the cardstock. Please help this Cricut virgin!!

I would try changing the blade depth. I would also lower the speed. You have to play around with it though. What works for one may not work for another. Congrats on your Expression

often times, a new mat is too sticky. You can pat it down with your hands or I have even used my jeans to remove just a little of the sticky. I agree with the previous post-try changing the blade depth setting to 4 or 5 if you are cutting thick cardstock.
