Budget cuts, Stetz. The state can no longer afford to pay for driver's ed, but it's still a graduation requirement. I think only the book portion is a requirement, though. We have an adult-ed facility in town that offers the book course for under $75, but the waiting list is years long.
Stetz, I hope you can work something out for Shelby's transportation.
Yay Sunday. I'm not sure what today holds for us, other than the usual Sunday chores.

LOL, Alissa. Well, I do like it as-is. If I were to tweak it, I might make the flowers on the outside of the frame a bit smaller, and I might add a bit of color to some of the white flowers that line the inside of the frame. Then again.....my suggestions might be terrible, LOL!
I'm only part way done with my chore list. DH and went for a drive and some lunch. We did stop for groceries, but now I need to tackle laundry (once DH frees up the washer) and bills.

Alissa I love your frame. the flowers on the top are throwing me off a bit. I love the flowers on the bottom corner. The inside is beautiful.
Dh ended up staying home this weekend. we adjusted and added some heads to are sprinkler system so it goes around the garden better.
We went driving in the hills and did some shooting. Im trying to sight in my new .38 special. I can hit almost anything with dh's 22 but having a hard time with my new gun. I think its the kick.
Today I did a bunch of house work and made the kids clean their rooms. we worked on the pond in the front yard. The people before made a mess of it so we are redoing the whole thing.
We bought a snowcone maker in town im not sure who like it better the adults or the kids lol.

Hiya? Dance studio had dress rehearsal today...it didn't go wonderfully but it didn't go terribly either...but they say that a bad dress rehearsal makes for a good show so it's a good thing that it didn't go perfectly. There was some drama, of course, and I almost missed one of my dances (they gave me a nine minute fast change from my solo to modern...everything was going well until I couldn't get my solo headpiece off and there was no one around to give me a hand)
Jen- My sister eats a lot of pizza and like microwave burritos and Mexican food...pasta too sometimes.
Becky- We have a Costco like two blocks from where I live...but we rarely go anymore because it's hard to store stuff.
Stephanie- How did Shelby's dance show go?

Andrea, what do you shoot? LOL on the snow cone maker!
Ashley, I loved and hated dress rehearsals. They are definitely good for figuring out snafus like the headpiece. Wow on your sister's diet. That will catch up to her at some point. She sounds like more of a picky eater than a vegetarian.
I have to admit that for the most part, I do not miss our Costco. Walking in their doors was a guarantee that we would spend $$$. It was always on stuff we needed, but the bulk factor ran up the cost. My family doesn't eat a lot of the food they sell, either. There are times though that it would be nice....such as when we need certain clothing items or big ticket items.
There was a small 4-acre fire in our town today. It was moving toward some homes, but no one had to evacuate. They caught the woman who set the fire. Yay! For a good hour or more we had helicopters with water buckets flying low over our house between the reservoir and the fire. The copters were actually making our house shake!
Ug.....I am not mentally ready for 5 busy days at work. I hope they go by quickly.

Quick question.....I might do a photo book for our recent Yosemite trip. I remember our discussions about photo books, but I don't remember which online one that people here like to use. Any suggestions?

Jen right now im just shooting at clay pigeons and paper targets.
How and why did the women set the fire?
On Costco it is easy to get sucked into the junk. I shop there to much for that. I buy some produce, meats, cheeses, breads, and lunch stuff. I freeze a lot of stuff and I can make the $300 dollars worth of stuff last a long time. I go to the store in town for small things and filler items.
Ashley I find it funny that your sister wants to eat vegetarian or vegan and then fills her body with junk food. not to mention she probably doesn't even realize what they put in that stuff.

Stetz sounds like you may have found a solution to your dilemma with Shelby. I hope it works out

Finally found some time to stop by. Been a busy day so far.
Jen, that's good that they caught the arsonist so fast! Do they have a reason for her motives yet? I use AdoramaPix for mine because I like the lay flat books and I think their prices are fair, especially with the discounts. Their is a code now for 30% off any size until the end of May. Artscow also has low prices, but I don't like their sizes for the lay flat books.
Alissa, I like the frame...and I for the oddball, like the flowers on top, lol!
Mandi, doesn't sound like much fun for your weekend! I would be exhausted too!!
Shelby's recital went great...she did a really good job. I video-taped it, but when I went to replay it last night, my buttons on the camera wouldn't work...grr...and I couldn't get it to work on the TV either...I'll probably be buying a new camera.
Ashley, glad the rehearsal didn't go too bad.

Andrea, shooting clay pigeons sounds fun.
I haven't heard the motives for the woman who sat the fire. I did watch a video of her being arrested. The fire was just starting behind her and she was arguing with the officers, trying to avoid being arrested. They caught her setting it with gasoline and matches. She had already set one or two fires and was setting more when the police found her. I'm guessing the mental instability or drugs are a factor.
Mandi, ouch on the long weekend. Were you paid extra, I hope?
Thanks for the photobook suggestions!
Stetz, bummer on the camera. Are there other parents who filmed it and can share?
We woke up to a broken showerhead. Instead of spraying shower water, it just dumped water like a hose would. Sadly, it was a vast improvement The original showerhead was super low-flow and the builder was required by CA code to install it. Piece. of. garbage. DH has already installed a nifty new one. I can't wait to try it out.

Hiya? Had an inside day today because my sister was home from work but ever so cross with me for seeing "The Great Gatsby" without her (mind you, we saw it when she was on her epic road trip with the boyfriend) so she wouldn't go anywhere with me. She just went up to Bridgeport, Conn to spend the next few days with him, leaving the house in chaos.
Andrea- My sister has selective memory when it comes to her food choices. She knows what she's eating isn't exactly great for her but she still eats it anyway under the theory that it's better for her than meat.
Mandi- Sorry you had a busy weekend. Hope you get time to relax!
Jen- That's craziness about the arsonist! I used Shutterfly when I did the photobook for my sister's England trip last summer.
Dropping off...

Good afternoon! The video tape still works fine, it's the camera that won't rewind/play/fast forward the tape. These are mini DV tapes, so I don't have another way to play them. I called the guy today though who transfers them to DVD for me and told him my problem. He said drop them off and he'll get all of them captured on his PC, then have me come over to create menus for them. Bad thing is, now I have to buy a new camera. Grr! I'm not getting another sony though, that is for sure!
Jen, ugh on the showerhead, but I'm with you, I hate slow flat showers! Cool beans on getting a new niftier shower head!
