When we took our kids to see their first movie, we brought snacks to keep them from being too squirmy.
Stetz, I'm glad people were there to help you with the battery. What a bother, though.
DH gets 5 weeks to use any way he wants. I get 3 weeks plus 6 sick days to use for sick/doctor's appointments. I'm too busy and healthy to use them, though. In all my life, I've only had school called early once because a hallway flooded, and work called off once for a few morning hours because of flooding. Unfortunately I was a new employee and no one had my number. I managed to get through the flood area and made it in to work, but couldn't get back out, LOL! That stunk.
I made 2 birthday cards tonight. I really wasn't into them. They came out OK enough.
Hiya? Had dance today...I went in excited because we're doing a "Game of Thrones" themed ballet for the group ballet and, I'm a fan of the books, so I was already to have my geek-out moment. Well, that was spoiled when one of the parents of the kids we're dancing with went and complained to the studio owner that I was "out of uniform" so I got pulled aside and told that if I don't comply with uniform standards, they were going to pull me from the front line of the ballet. (The uniform rules, as far as I know them, for a "workshop class" allows me to wear black or pink tights...everyone normally wears pink. I've always worn all black to ballet.)
Becky- I think that Aly would like "Frozen"...it's so pretty and there's lots of funny stuff...especially with Olaf the Snowman and Sven the Reindeer!
Stephanie- That's awesome about finding someone to help with the battery. I know if that happened to my mom and I, we'd be totally baffled on what to do about it!
Jen- When I was in high school, there was a massive ice storm and they couldn't close the school. Since I refused to miss the day and we lived close enough, I was one of like 200 kids (in a school of over 2000) that showed up that day.
Becky how cute. I just love seeing that complete joy on the kids faces.
Its about 12 here this morning the low is supposed to be 7.
We got the tree decorated last night and watched the sound of music Christmas special.
Ashley as much as you probably pay and the stuff you do for free at that dance studio I would be royally ticked at that treatment. You really need to not let them push you around like that. there has to be other places to dance where you would be given some respect. There comes a point when you need to stand up for yourself. If you don't you will never be treated any differently and will continue to be walked on and pushed around.

Good afternoon. No school or work today. We have I think 10" of snow and it is still coming down! Elias is out their for the 3rd time playing in it. This will be his last today as it will get dark pretty soon. It's about 20 degrees but colder with wind chill. Everything here has been cancelled the last two days...school plays, sports events, etc.
Jen, I'm sure your cards are great! I tried to make some tags earlier, but just not in the mood. This weather just depresses me! That would totally suck about the flood day and not being able to get back out!
Ashley, I agree with Andrea, if it has been allowed to wear black tights, then you needed to point that out. I never minded school, but I never went if I didn't absolutely have to! LOL
Becky, glad the Christmas program was good. I love the wonder and excitement on young kid's faces at things like that! Did all the kids get to go see Santa? They used to do that at the kid's old school, and he gave each a small candy cane.
Chance's friends don't believe in Santa Claus but dear Chance is hanging onto the magic for dear life We ordered him some ridiculous Santa jammies last weekend and he wore them last night. I love that he still likes to dress like a cartoon
They didn't get to sit on his lap or anything but they had a line go buy him to give hugs or high fives. Aly wouldn't go let him touch her once she got close. I think Trevor is getting skeptical about the whole thing but I'm pretty sure he still believes.
Ashley, I don't think I could keep on doing something that continually is problematic.
Wow....y'all are dealing with a lot of cold! The high here today was 46, which like Alissa's 43, is a big deal. I heard this morning that we may get 2 to 4 inches of snow in the hills around us!! I'll believe it when I see it. The most we've ever gotten was a dusting.
I have 2 tie blankets to do, plus I need to catch up on some recipe layouts for the boys (only DD got a full set last year), and I need to make a dozen identical tags. I think I'll watch a movie and eat a cookie instead.
Hiya? Had another day from the Seventh Circle of Dante's Inferno today...I got an after thought FB message from my sister's boyfriend inviting my mom and I to her surprise party tonight after Scouts. We weren't going until the boyfriend sent that his parents were coming...my mom got her Italian up and we wound up having to go in the miserable cold and rain. We left early and walked (in the rain) to see the tree at Rockefeller Center since we figured there'd be no crowds so I could take pictures of the tree up close.
Becky- We have to take the older Scouts aside and tell them to not point out the whole Santa thing in front of the little Scouts. We like to try and keep the magic alive for as long as possible.
Andrea- I'm going into the studio tomorrow demanding to see the dress policy for the students. I know there's something that says it someplace. I'll concede defeat if it says I only have to wear pink but I'm pretty sure it says pink or black.
Stephanie- I liked school...but I was bored a lot of the time. I spent most of my school time reading because that was more interesting. In college, I use to do a lot of writing sitting on the floor of the science floor between classes.
Alissa- I'm pretty sure my mom would pay me to stop dressing like a cartoon when I'm not doing anything I feel warrants dressing like a person.
Jen- I'm either very stupid or very stubborn....I'm not sure which. I'm very good at putting up with a lot of trash for some reason.
Good morning! I love having days off work, but I realized...I love staying home..until I'm forced to stay home, then I'm really bored and miserable! LOL I'm gonna try and get out today.
Alissa, that's sweet with Chance. Shelby obviously doesn't believe, but she would never say so out loud. I've told her (and Dakota), if you don't believe, he just won't fill your stocking and leave a present. This way, there is no chance of it getting ruined for Elias.
Becky, that's what they did at the kid's old school, they just walked by him, no one got to sit on his lap. LOL on Aly refusing to let him touch her.
Jen, sounds like a good trade-off to me! LOL I was pretty lazy yesterday...OK, very lazy! It didn't stop snowing til 5 pm last night! We got a bunch, that's for sure! I'll take your 40+ degrees any day!
Shatema, glad all is going well for you. Hope you have fun at your Christmas party.
Ashley, glad you got to get some pics. I hope the birthday party wasn't too bad.
