knock on wood - G is calm right now...watching Journey 2 yet again....and she is working on a craft we got last week - I ironed on images onto a canvas bag and she is using markers to color them in - she is happy if she is coloring/painting/markeri ng....
but she just asked what is after the movie - grrrr
another newsbrief....they are allowing several residents to return to their homes in a 'pre-evac' status - which means they need to be ready to evacuate again if anything flares up... they had a map up and with a Vanna sweep showed who can return starting at 8 pm....sure hope they put out actual street names and developments ...thinking organized chaos....
there is a meeting tonight at 8 for the residents on those 35 streets - finding out whether they have a home to go home to...just so sad....
guess they reported on national news this was the work of an arson....while there is speculation, it has not been determined one way or the other - they are still investigating....whoever approved that release is going to be in a bit of trouble....(I personally think it was arson or stupidity)
We are watching tennis tonight. Had a busy day with Peyton. I had him yesterday, too. I think he is liking the two afternoons a week instead of one whole day. We went to see the movie Brave this afternoon. I have to say, that he didn't want to go see this one as it was "about a girl". You know 5th grade boys are not interested in "girls". But I told him I wanted to see this movie and it isnt always about what he wants. He liked it anyway. It was really good. I loved how they did her hair!
Pam - been praying for your area...hoping they get it under control. Such a waste all the loss!
Planning to go to body pump in the morning. I am sore, but not too bad. The worst is under my arms! In the pit area...I am hoping that my body will let go of some more weight since I am adding new exercise.
Took Coco to get a bath today. Just trying to keep him familar with the groomer. They said they wanted to keep him, since he is such a good boy. But I said they couldn't...he is my baby! When I dropped him off, the receptionist showed me a pic they had of Gizzy on their wall under the calendar. It will be a year on July 14 since Gizzy died. There were only 4 dogs on the wall and when I got to the car, I just cried! I called dh and cried again. He understood why I was crying. I just couldn't help it. Okay, trying not to cry just now!!
Bridget - you scared the life out of me. It gives me goosebumps to look at those pictures of your car. You are so lucky to not have serious injuries! Thank God! Rest and take it easy...I know that is not your style...but you need to make sure all your muscles are okay, too!
Lynn - I think the heat is making everyone cranky! Trying to stay in where it is cool. Thankful they cut our tree down last week and not yesterday!
Emotional reading this morning between the fires, fatality, Bridget and little Giz!
Pam, I'm wondering if that was a person who refused to leave, or else how were they missed?
Debbie, I was wondering if you guys made it to the trials! Who knew swimming could be so exciting? I remember watching last time in the Olympics and loving it! I think Phelps did a lot for his sport that year. but can I just say, that Lochte is such a cutie!!! lol!
Watched some X games last night, too. Love to watch that! alot of moto x freestyle, and Brandon LOVES dirt bikes, scares me!
Brandon got stung my a bee on his finger last night while we were on our walk, thank goodness we were almost home because he FLIPPED out! It was so weird, it's at leat the 3rd time he's been stung this summer and he's never reacted like that. He was so upset he broke out in hives all over his body! His finger swelled up, which he does have a minor allergy, but I just couldn't believe how he reacted! By the time he went to bed he was okay, but scarey there for awhile. He's sleeping this morning, which I think is part of why he over-reacted so much and why he's been so rotten the past couple of days, he's over-tired.
Just one today, and luckily it's my easiest, so it should be a good day!
Bridget, if your reading this, I need some help on your pic, it says:
Shake it like a polaroid pic, 7 letters, T U W A K O S T. Anyone have any ideas?
Going to text Bridget in a few!
Hi everyone! Sorry I have been MIA lately. It seems as though I have been a little dipressed about the fire going on here. I have a very dear friend who's house was luckily sparred, but know of a few others we know socially that lost it all. Just so sad! I woke with a headache today, so I slept in and boy did it feel good. Now I just have to try to get the day going!
Debbie, when we did Yellowstone about 6 years ago or so, we stayed in Idaho one night then Montana, then Cody. I agree with Lynn, it would be really hard to go back to Cody every night. I hope you have it all figured out by now!
Pam, loved the youtube you shared! Too cute!
We went to Manitou to have dinner last night for my Dad's birthday. Wanted to give a little to their economy. 3 or 4 -4door trucks pulled in as we were getting ready to leave full of firefighters from Oregon that had clearly just got off the front lines. I of course had to say thanks! They were very thankful to have people appreicate what they do. I was baffled by that, who doesn't appreicate Firefighters?? I guess really selfish people maybe.
Anyway, I hope to stay away from the TV today and I hope you all have a great day!
Ended up taking B to the clinic his hand is so badly swollen, they said the swelling should be gone by tomorrow morning, but gave us a script for an epi pen because allergies tend to get worse each time, I guess. Not sure it's an allergy or just a sensitivity and the swelling is so bad because it's in the hand, but we'll have the epi just in case.
