Here's a challenge to encourage you to complete as many pages as possible over the Thanksgiving holiday. To earn full credit (or points) your layout must have the following seven steps:

1. Sketch or lift - has to be either one either one
2. Select your papers....50% of the papers must be scraps or must be papers bought over 6 months ago
3. Dress-up those papers...for example add a mask.
4. Handmade something (anything);
5. Use something you've had in your stash for a long time. (gotta use up that old stuff so you an get new stuff while you're out Christmas/holiday shopping!)
6. Use any ONE or the three on the title:
1)subtitle 2)bling or 3)Glossy Accents

7. Do any of the following three things:
1) add doodles to the page 2) journal on a tag and find a place (even tucked a little under something)3) stitch a pattern on the page-

The first page you complete will earn you 25 points. All other pages will earn you 10 points. When you post please include a list of all seven steps you used. If you fall short, 5 points will be taken from the page.

Your points will be added to the progressive challenge. You do NOT have to participate in the progressive to play this - the catch-up-athon. The top two players in the progressive challenge will earn a small RAK and a third random winner will be picked from all scrappers that submit a layout this weekend (hence the more you scrap the more points you earn and the better your chance to win the random RAK).

Layouts are accepted from right now until midnight sb.com on Sunday.

Good luck and have fun catching up on scrapping!

A Day at the Zoo By Provinca

Step 1: Sketch/lift:

Step 2: all the paper is old - years old! and the brown wooden paper is all scraps

Step 3: I distressed allthe strips

Step 4: Hand made the tag with the date on it

Step 5: the die cut is soooo old; i've been meaning to use it but never did!

Step 6: blinged the title -- added glitter dots

Step 7: stitch - i stitched on the tag. Okay it's only a tiny stitch, but, in my defense, the thread came out of the needle, and I couldn't get it back in, so it's only half of the "x" I was planning on making, but it's still a stitch!

6. The title has glossy accents on it so it's glossy
7. I doodled with gold pen along the straight edge of the scallops (not very noticeable, but if you squint you can see it!)

And that is the idea behind the catch-up-athon. Something easy you can handle and plan around despite all the directions you'll be pulled in this weekend. If your looking for a completing a quick page and socialize try for completing a progress.

Tentative progressive times and dates:

Friday 1 PM eastern time /11 AM sb.com
Saturday double header day
one at 9 AM eastern / 6 AM sb.com time AND/PLUS 6 PM eastern / 3 PM sb.com.
Sunday 11 AM eastern time/ 8 AM sb.com

when you say 50% of the papers have to be scraps--what if you do not save scraps? Could it be like maybe an either/or with 50% of the papers are 6 months old or older?

totally love that idea megan....and since this is about being laid back, getting caught-up which includes using up supplies so we have room for more by x-mas i'll amend that part

I think I can do this, is it ok to be able to use your pages in other challenges as well?

Yes, Laura, you can use these pages for other challenges. However the exception would be you can't use a page made here for the progressive challenge

Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. I'm working ALL day tomorrow. Leaving at 6am and I'll be back home around 9pm. I'd much rather be home scrapping. Have fun and hopefully I'll have a chance to rejoin the progressives soon. I seem to be working every time they run.

What's great about this one is the only time restraint is that you have to finish sometime this weekend.
