I wasn't even sure how to name the subject.. hehe Hi I've seen many cute LO's and cards that have this cool effect. Imagine a Santa and his hat and sleeves have this white coat that makes it look kinda real. Not furry, but in a way like that. lol I really like it, but I'm not sure what it is? I heard something about liquid Applique? Something like that? I was just wondering what it is and where did people get it from? Thank you all for your wonderful help

liquid applique looks like icing I bought mine from CTMH
there is also fun flock which would make it look "furry" available at pretty much all scrapbooking stores Ms even had them in 4pks in the dollar bins.

If you're talking about flocking, I have the following products and really like them.

Maybe it's the fluff stuff that Tim Holtz has been using on his tags. Not sure what it's called though. But you could check his blog.

I've used the MS flock and that is really nice, gives it a kind of fuzzy/furry soft look

I feel stupid about flocking. I bought some cheap flocking from Michaels once just to try it and I never have because I didn't know WHAT to do...? Do you just sprinkle it on glue like glitter?

Yeah, to use the flock, just put some glue, I actually use Xyron if I can, then sprinkle the flocking on, press it into the piece, then shake off the excess. Looks great!

The stuff Tim Holtz used for the tags is Sparkly Fluff.

You can actually make a cheap version of flower soft by rubbing styrofoam balls together. They styrofoam will come off in small bits and they can be colored with ink. Or you can leave them for white.

I'll look to see if I can find the blog where I learned this one from.

Here's one of the blogs and it compares the color of the real flower soft with the handmade styrofoam version:
