I got one of those 12x12 accordion style folders at Michael's. It's pink and black, and I found it in the storage section. I think it was $5 after I used a coupon. Anyway, I have it sorted by color and my cardstock scraps go in it. My pp scraps are just in one of those plastic Iris containers. If it starts getting too full, I make myself use scraps only on some cards or a LO until it's emptier again.
I am currently using some 8x8 page protectors in a 12x12 album to organize my scraps, with specialty scraps like vellum in a three-panel fold-out 12x12 with lots of different size pockets. My mom uses several sets of Sterilite drawers.
What does everybody use to store their scrap paper in? I want to organize it by color so I can easily find a small scrap if I need it - any ideas? Thanks!
Zip bags (dollar store), Cello Bags (eBay) ... Currently I have my 12x12 in nine Iris Scrapbook cases - Wonderfully protective, not easy to retrieve.
I have purchased the Cropper Hopper Rolling Cart, File folders & dividers. I'm hoping to get the paper storage up this weekend. This will store perfectly under my glass top "Brenton Studio Zentra Collection Main Desk" I got at Office Max for $99.99 (it's on sale again too).
I will also be sorting in color. I will put the color scraps in the front of each section, so I know to take them first if I can.
I have finally found something that works good for me! I have a plastic 6 drawer storage unit. Each drawer is at least 12x12. I use each drawer for two colors. The designed paper goes in the drawer of its basic color. I labeled the front to show which colors are in each drawer.
I have found this to be quick to add scraps to plus to look for a scrap of the color I want. Now I am able to use my scrapbooking scraps to make most of my cards.
I have an accordian folder I picked up at the Dollar general. I seperate my cardstock scraps by color in there. My patterned paper scraps however go in a shoebox. Not the best method but I have a hard time figuring out how to seperate pp.
