Going forward all daily/weekly/monthly pics, LOs and point details must be posted to the thread by the deadline which is Sunday 12 midnight PST.

PRIZES: Gift certificates to!

**Prize Categories**
(prize amounts will be based upon the number of players)

1 - Most points overall - no matter what your goal was or how many layouts you complete, if you have the most points at the end of the month, then you win this category...

2 - Most points 10 or less layouts - if you set your goal for 10 or less layouts and complete 10 or less layouts for the month, then you are eligible for this category - if you complete more than 10 LOs then congrats to you, but that moves you to the other categories...

3 - Most points 11-25 LOs. If you set your goal for 11-25 layouts and complete your goal of 11-25 layouts for the month, then you are eligible for this category - if you complete more than 25 LOs then congrats to you, but that moves you to the other categories...

4 – Most daily challenges completed - I will post a new challenge everyday and if you do them, keep track of how many you complete, then you will be eligible for a prize at the end of the month. If there is a tie, then there will be a drawing. (To be eligible for this category, please start a blog at to list your challenges completed.) Daily challenges are meant to be completed on a layout, a card, or an altered project. There will be few day specific challenges but generally you will be able to complete those challenges at your own pace and you may combine several of them on a same layout, card, or altered project.

5 – Random drawing of everyone who meets their goal - very simple, meet your goal and I will put all names into a hat at the end of the month and draw one name.

***** You will only be eligible for prizes having met your LO goal. You can only win in one category.*****

Layouts are counted towards your goal in the following manner:

*8x8 or above (6x12, 8.5x11, 12x12) = 1 layout (2 pagers count as 2 layouts)
*2 6x6 = 1 layout
*3 4x6=1 layout
*4 mini layouts (3x3, 4x4 etc.)= 1 layout
*Cards do not count toward your layout goal, but you can count points for them*

Altered items and other projects can be counted as "layouts" based on the amount of work you put into them. If you aren't sure how many to count, just ask!

**A note for people who'd like to play for prizes, but not keep track of points; as long as you link/post your layouts to the thread, you can still be eligible for categories 4 & 5 of prizes!**

When you post your cards, LOs, or altered projects please post all points details inculding any daily, weekly, or monthly challenges you are counting them for on this thread.

BONUS POINTS: YOU MAY TAKE +10 pts for completing the daily challenge by 11:59 pm (PST) on the same day/date that it was posted for! (SO the 9/2 challenge needs to be completed by 11:59 pm on 9/2 to take the +10 bonus points.)

4/1: Download a new decorative font that you would like to use on a project. Tell us the font's name and where you got it. This is worth 75 points.

Hint: Therebare several free fonts online and you only have to google for them. Or, you can go to the CK (Creating Keepsakes) site for their free Friday font at:

http://clubcreatingkeepsa y...

To earn another 75 points (for a toal of 150 pts for this daily) use this decorative font on a project this month.

4/2: I used to have a magnetic poetry set for college students that was displayed on my fridge. Before I moved I took a picture of the fridge with its current poems, phrases, words of genius! Since you all do not have a fridge with poetry to take pictures of go to this link: You can choose a kit to play with (office, romance, genius, etc.) and create your own magnetic poetry! You then submit your poem (you can submit anonymously) or print it or take a screen shot and share the link/image with us for +75 pts. Print the magnetic poetry and use it on a LO for +225 pts! Here is an example:
Magnetic Poetry Example By Megan Ann

4/3: Finally getting to this challenge! lol! Set up your daily challenge tracking blog and signature line. Also come up with 3-10 monthly goals and write them in your "Monthly Goals Blog." Once you have completed all 3, share the links to your blogs and take +150 pts!

4/4: Today is my sister's birthday, and I need to get her a card. I've decided to make it myself this year.

Your challenge for today is to make a birthday card for someone on your list for 75 points.

If you use nothing but scraps to create it - including the card base itself - you can add 25 points.

If you actually get it into an envelope, addressed, and stamped - add another 25 points.

No points for mailing it, but at least it's ready to go, and the rest is up to you!

4/5: On This Day in History

1933 President Franklin D. Roosevelt signs Executive Order 6102 “forbidding the Hoarding of Gold Coin, Gold Bullion, and Gold Certificates” by U.S. citizens.

Follow this executive order by lavishing your project with the color gold. Use gold paper, gold paint, gold bling, gold ribbon, or anything else you can think of that might be this color.

Take 20 points for each category (paper, paint, bling, ribbon or fiber, stickers... etc.) of gold you use, up to 100 points.

Take an additional 25 points if you create a monochrome project of ONLY gold items.

4/6: Wacky Website Wednesday

Today, believe it or not, is Tartan Plaid day.

Go to this site ScotWeb and design your own tartan plaid. Save your image, or snip it, do a screen capture, or print and scan it, and then post it here.
This is worth 50 points.

Use a plaid scheme in a project today for another 50 points.

If you use your designed plaid as the basic plaid for your project, you can add an additional 25 points.

Total possible points for today's project is
125 points.

Here's my design.

4/7: Technique Thursday

Today's challenge is to attempt a new technique. Find something that you have been wanting to try that you just haven't gotten around to yet.

Post that technique here for 25 points.

If you actually attempt the technique on a project, add 100 points.

4/8: Friendship Friday

Today is about catching up on love. Take double points on every comment you leave up to 30 comments.

Today's Possible Points = 120

4/9: Saturday Sketch

It's Saturday, which means the Kaisercraft blog has it's weekly sketch posted. Here's what it looks like.

Today's challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to create a project using this sketch.

300 points for a layout.
150 points for a card.

4/10:Weekend Warrior Wrap Up

My scrap room is a disaster zone. The table is covered with left over supplies, the paper stacks have been moved to a box where I planned to sort them but haven't yet, my boxes from retreat last month have not been unpacked, and I've had to resort to scrapping on the dining room table just to find room to spread out.

So today, my plan is to get things cleaned up and put away. You can play too.

Give yourself 10 points for posting each area (up to six) that needs to be addressed and dealt with and another 10 when you get around to actually doing it.

Here's my six to get us started.

1. My scrap desk.
2. The floor to the right of my table.
3. The floor to the left of my table.
4. My scrapping chair.
5. The boxes from retreat.
6. My paper stack

Total points for today = 120

4/11: Lets see your distressing! Take 25 points for each type of distressing you use one your page, up to 6 times, for a total of 150 points max.

4/12: Today is Walk on Your Wild Side Day! Use an animal print on your project for 125 points!

4/13: Use your favorite brand of paper on a project for 100 points. Don't forget to tell us about it!

4/14: I love to window shop! Add 6 items to your wishlist for 125 pts! Make sure you share the items here by linking them to a post!

4/15: This week is "tax week". Use something that reminds you of money on your project. It could be a dollar sign, lots of green, a coin...anything that reminds you of money! 125pts

4/16: April is national stress awareness month. Dh is always telling me I am way too stressed out. So today take an hour for just you, to relax and do whatever YOU want to do. 100points!

4/17: I love making new friends. Friend 5 new people for 300 points!

4/18: I've been drooling over cute papper piecing patterns I've found online so today's challenge is to make your own project using a paper piecing design.

Take 75 points for finding a design you'd like to use. Post here which one. Take 75 more points when you use the design on a LO.

Two sites where there are cute free paper piecing designs are:

I made my own design free hand tonight, just looking at the cartoon. Here's an example- I'll finish ther LO and post it later today. Yours. Doesn't have to be as detailed unless you want it to be.

Paper piecing example By AshleyLadd

4/19: Make a card or LO with a quilled object. has free quilling templates

You don't need a quilling tool or petal roller, just a thin long object such as scissors or a skewer (I use one side of my scissors to wrap my paper around).

I usually see simple quilled flowers but you can make butterflies, dragon flies, lady bugs, watermelons, pumpkins, and several other interesting items using this technique.

Please take 125 points for using at least one quilled item on your project for this daily project.

4/20: Stitch on your LO or card for a possible 150 total points.

For 75 points, all you have to do is a simple straight stitch such as a straight border around a page or pocket or simple element.

If you want the full 150 points, do creative stitching on your project- either embroidery type stitches such as cross stitching, loops, French Knots, and/or stitch your title or a more intricate design such as flowers, bees, or suns.

4/21: I love the Effer Dares blog and their LO book. I want to take a lot of their dares. If you're not familiar with them visit them here:

In fact I love their Dare #172 and for the 4-21 daily I dare you to find inspiration from the internet for a card or other LO. Look at ads, photos, paintings and build off one aspect whether it's the shape, colors, or overall LO. To make this more challenging, do NOT use a card or scrapbook LO as your inspiration.

Post the url or photo of your inspiration for 75 points.

Use this inspiration on a card or LO for an additonal 75 points for a total possible 150 points.

If you want more explanation click on the link above to the Dares site and scroll down to Dare #172.

Be creative and let yourself go with this one.

4/22: Decorate a tag any way you like for 75 points.

Use the tag on a LO or card for an additional 75 points.

I look forward to seeing your tags.

4/23: Pour your heart into a project. Scrap about something painful or that you feel very strongly about, that moves you a lot. Your design should also feature hearts (or broken hearts). +150 pts

4/24: It's a holiday and a holy day so take 150 points for spending at least 10 minutes today with a special friend or loved one. This can be in person, via telephone, via webcam, or even in an IM, so long as you interact.

Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it.

4/25: Today is Red Hat Society Day, Use mostly red on a LO, card, or project for 125 points.

4/26: Sometimes less is more. I’d like to see some negative space LO’s, a completed lo is worth 300 points

4/27: Post a quote to this thread for 75 points.

Use the quote in a LO, card or project for an additional 75 points

4/28: April showers bring May flowers, unfortunately we have had no rain in the Houston area. So I’d like to see some flowers now! Use at least 3 flowers on a card or Lo or project for 75 points.

If you handmade your flowers you can add an additional 75 points

4/29: Post a link to your favorite scrapper/scrapping blog or scrapper youtube video here for 100 points

4/30: Last day of the month and the end of challenge. Give yourself a pat on the back and 150 points for playing this month.

~*~Weekly Challenge and Photo Challenge~*~
These challenges MUST be posted WITH POINTS DETAILS by 11:59 PM PST Sunday to take points for the weekly challenges.

NEW RULE: If you take a pic of your computer screen because you do not have the item asked for in the weekly photo challenge you will only get half points for the picture of your computer screen. So if the challenge was originally worth 100 pts, you would get 50 pts; worth 50 pts, you would get 25 pts; etc.

Weekly photos worth 50 points each
A sign
Something shiny
Go Green

The clean and dirty photos CANNOT be your scrap room

Weekly challenge:

A couple of weeks ago I received an email link to the Transcending video by Kelly Corrigan. The video has been around for many years but it still makes me smile, laugh and cry every time I see it. In the video Kelly talks about the friendships women share. Here is the link:

So this weeks challenge is to make an LO about a friendship(s)
LO worth 300 points
Journal (hidden is fine) on the LO for an additional 100 points

Total weekly points possible 400

Write letters to either someone you know now, to an ancestor, or to your descendants that aren't born yet. You can write up to three for points.

Take 50 points for each letter written up to 3 for a total of 150 points.

Take 50 points each for using the letter in a LO or other project up to another 150 points each.

The letters can be hidden in pockets or envelopes on the project if they're too personal to display prominently. Or they can be on the back of a LO or picture as long as they're accessible and you give a hint on the front of the project for people to find them.

I'm a firm believer in journaling so our stories will be told.

These can be typed or handwritten. They should be at leaast a few paragraphs long. They don't have to be perfect.

I don't want you to stress, but I do want you to share your feelings or impart important information to at least 3 different people.

Here are this week's pics, worth 50 points each.

1) an animal or bird native to the part of the world you live in now

2) a body of water (ocean, canal, river, lake, creek)

3) a food that's popular where you're living now (example~ chili is VERY popular in Cincinnati. So is goetta. Po Boys and gumbo are popular in Louisianna and Mississippi.)

4) a silly face

5) something purple

Weekly: We don't always take the time to scrap the pictures of ourselves. This week scrap a favorite picture of you for 250 points. Include a list of you currant favorite things, at least 5, for an addition 100 points! Total possible points: 350

Photos: 50 points each

Good morning, ladies, and welcome to this week's challenge.

It's been a while since we did a count down, so that's my plan for this week.

Your challenge for this week is to create a layout using NO more and NO less of the following items.

1 = use one journal block
2 = use two photos
3 = use three patterned papers
4 = use four ribbons
5 = use five rub ons
6 = use six stickers
7 = use seven flowers
8 = use eight bling items
9 = use nine buttons
10 = use ten brads

CLARIFICATION #8. ONE color of stickles will count as ONE bling item, no matter how much of it you use. TWO colors of stickles will count as TWO bling items, no matter how much you use. The same rule will apply to shimmer/glimmer mist and glitter.

You MAY ADD anything you like that is not in the above list (cardstock, chipboard, staples, thread and stitches, stamps, inks, etc.) but you cannot use more than the number listed of the items in the list.

Hope all of that makes sense to everyone. Have fun!

50 points each = 250 points

1. Self Portrait
2. Shadows
3. Looking Up
4. Spring
5. Abandoned

MONTHLY CHALLENGE brought to you by GentlewoodFarms!!! Thanks Pat!!!

The monthly project for April is to create a mini album using SCRAPS and LEFTOVER embellishments from your APRIL projects this month. The idea is to help you use up the bits and pieces of your projects from this month to create a second complete project, also for this month.

I plan to make my album from paper bags - or at least that's my plan right now - but you could use chipboard, or small 6x6 page protectors, or card stock, or grunge board, or just about anything else you can come up with as the base pages for your mini-album.

Each single page of your monthly album will be worth 100 points, up to ten pages total for a total of 1000 points. Your album can contain more pages, of course, but only ten can be counted for points.

If you manage to create an album with a single theme - that is, all the pages are related to a single topic or thread - you can add an additional 100 points.

And if you use up all your April scraps, you can add another 100 points.

Finally, if you give it as a gift to someone, add one more set of 100 points.

Total value for this month's project will be 1300 points!

Have fun and USE UP YOUR SCRAPS!

Challenge Volunteers! These are the new rules for people who want to volunteer to do a week of challenges.
1.The weekly challenge cannot be worth more than 400 pts.
2.The daily challenges can only be worth 150 pts with one exception per week up to 300 pts. So 6 days of 150 points or less and one challenge up to 300 points.
3.The daily challenges should generally be something that can be incorporated into ANY LO. Not a challenge that you must make a LO for that you wouldn't have made otherwise. But it CAN require you to make a whole LO for one challenge per week.
4.Picture challenges can only be worth up to 250 pts total added up for all pictures. There should not be more than 6 pictures for the weekly photo challenge.
5. You MUST post the challenge by 10 AM EST (which is 7AM PST) OR post the challenge the night before, preferably after 9PM your time.

****Weeks will run from Monday to Sunday!****

yay April! I can do a week of challenges if you need. But I'm gone a lot in April so the only week I can do is the 11-17. Sorry to be picky!

Oh and sign me up for 10 LOs please!

Add me. I'll get my money to you sometime later today, Megan.

I'm going to do another 10 layouts this month. I pulled that off just barely last month!

I can host a week if you need someone.

Do you want to use the monthly project that we talked about last month?

I'll say 10 this month. Hopefully I'll do more but I'll be starting my semester sometime and need to work on that if it comes!

We are pretty laid back. You can do a weekly if you want to, do not do one if you do not want to. You can do an easier weekly since it is only 3 days to get it done. Maybe only 3 pics instead of 5 pics...whatever you want.

BUT--I wanted to ask, would you like a full week? I just put you in for the short week b/c you had said you were a little unsure about hostessing the daily/weekly challenges. However, if you desire, I would be happy to assign you a full week of hostessing from the available weeks.

My DH is threatening to start selling my SB stuff if I don't start SBing again (he said he was kidding, but I'm not so sure. It kind of scared me. lol!) So, here I am. Hopefully I can actually do something this month. Put me down for 8 LO's.
