Not sure if this belongs on this forum, and if not, apologies for the off-topic nature.

My sister is curious about ATCs and wants to know what a "basic supply list" for ATCs would have on it. Bear in mind, she has relatively little to no experience with papercrafting, painting, or stamping. But if you could provide some pointers or suggestions for some basic necessities...?

As well, are there any good ATC blogs out there (especially with tutorials?)

As always, thank you for your help!

There is only one rule for ATCs - they must be 2.5" x 3.5" (64 x 89 mm). Besides that they can be made from just about anything. Any medium, any technique. ANYTHING! So a list of supplies is impossible, unless she wants to narrow it down to a particular medium and/or technique.

Yep. Size is the only "rule" and basically anything goes. One thing I would suggest is getting something to display completed ATC's in/on.

I absolutely LOVE my little thingy from 7Gypsies.

actually, one other "rule" - they should only be traded, not sold.

but really, it depends on her style, as someone mentioned earlier. not necessarily paper crafting style - general style. is she someone who's into patterned clothing, stuff with frills? than look for pp and ribbon...sleek and simple, more with cardstock, etc.

I have seen ATCs made out of plastic, canvas, rubber, anything goes!

I get a lot of my ATC cards from evilbay. They're also called ACEOs. They're art!

Art Cards, Editions and Originals. There's a ton of great small art out there. I bought one and used the image on my St. Patrick's Day cards -- just for personal use, never for commercial use.
