between the black/pink Big Shot and the periwinkle Big Kick? Anything other that color that anyone knows of?

nope- there are lots of different colors but they're all the same machine.

I was wondering the same! Are they the same size then too? I keep putting off buying the Big Kick, thinking I should go for the Big Shot.

I was going to get the pink/black one but my M's only had the periwinkle and the red/white one. I got the periwinkle one for $45.

Is there anything I need to buy extra if I want to do embossing? I think I saw somewhere a tan silicone pad?

Mine is electric. I love it.

the big kick and big shot are the same.

Um, the tan pad is for using embossing plates not folders. I just went and got plumber's mat at home depot for using Fiskar's plates. The folders don't require anything more than the plates and the multi platform that comes with the machine. HAVE FUN!
