Username Post: Journalling pens..........?        (Topic#1567141)

I am wondering what most people use to journal with. I have been using Sakura Souffle and Glaze pens for the last couple of years almost exclusively, and never thought much of it. Then something all of a sudden had me worrying if these inks are archival safe? They don't say that they are which I am trying not to stress out over since they are all over my pages. Does anyone know if this is a huge deal, and if so do you have any suggestions for other pens?
Thanks so much.

I use Sakura Gelly Roll. I can't imagine trying to journal with the Glaze pens but I try to write pretty small.

More info on Sakura's archival-safety here: http://www.sakuraofamerica.com/content-page/faq

I have used Zig markers for years and have been very pleased with them.

I have a variety sitting around, which one I pick up depends on what size tip I want. I use Zig Millenium, American Crafts Precision Pen, Sharpie, or a Zig Writer.

I use whatever pen matches my LO....something SU markers, sometimes glaze pens, sometimes copic markers. But I am not real careful about archival safe.....I figure I use lots of stuff on my LOs that probably isn't "safe" but I think back to my mom's photos and my grandmother's photos that were stored in a box....definately not "safe"....and they survived!! LOL!!!

I used to use Sharpies until I saw evidence that they were fading now I use slick writers, Glaze, or souffle pens.

Seriously? Sharpies fade? That really, really sucks! I've been using them a lot!

Hi, I use mostly Zig markers & Jelly Roll pens by Sakura. I have the Jelly Roll gel pens in all of the colors but the souffle ones. I am sure that the Jelly Roll ones are all archival. I think they may be waterproof too. I have it written down but I can't find it. They have it written on their site too.I am a Jelly Roll addict! I also use the white, gold & silver of the uniball signo brand. They have an amazing flow of ink. They are archival too. Zigs are archival too. I use the Jelly Rolls more than the others. It depends on what I am making.
