Linny that is so great that Camille is doing so well!! More Power To Her!!
Maggie, are the symptoms temporary?? Maybe they will subside? Can't hurt to ask the pharmacist. I have back troubles so can understand the pain, but would not wish it on anybody.
Bren I am Sorry your pain is so awful too, like somebody already said let the pain meds help and I hope the stitches are something that can be treated to prevent anything worse happening!
Happier Feel Better thoughts going out to all, sometimes sleep can help too. We heal better with enough sleep I have snow again and just drinking tea and watching it as I bake gift cookies! I am freezing cold and having trouble getting warm tho the wood stove is burning and the oven is baking!! What the heck it wrong with me? Maybe I need to run up and down the stairs a few times LOL!

Hi ladies. I've caught up and read all the posts, but I've already forgotten what I was going to say! I have to start keeping notes while I'm reading to catch up!

Bren, sorry to hear about your stitches! That sounds mighty painful.

Linny, that's absolutely wonderful about Camille!

Maggie, that's too bad about your blood pressure meds. Hopefully, your doc can either adjust your dosage or put you on a different med.

Shana,I hope your little ones feel better soon.

Jo, continued hugs to you and your family!

I spend so much of my weekend in my scrap room but not creating a single thing! This was the weekend dh put up studs so the electrician can come and do some electrical work. I re-arranged some stuff and organized minimally, but it just made me realize that I really need to go through and do a purging! I've decided that I need to take one category at a time and clean out and organize.

I think next weekend I'll start with my dies. I've been wanting to better organize and catalog what I have because I really don't know what gems I have not been using! I recently picked up the Sizzix decorative black boxes for most of them. Now I have all the sizzix plastic cases that they came in empty. Anyone in need of them????

I have a box of stuff I need to get rid of, but I always think I'll need it again! As a matter of fact, just this weekend that happened. I used to have all my colored card stock in those 12 x 12 clear trays and then decided on a different method. I kept meaning to get rid of the trays and never did. This weekend, I decided that my new method (that I've been using now for about a year!) wasn't working for me and --guess what -- I went back to the plastic trays! Good thing I didn't get rid of them!

I'm hungry now. I made a brasiole in my crock today and it smells delicous. I think I'll go have some with a side salad.

Hi ladies, I haven't read any of the posts. Deb, thanks for the link to the coffee shop, I haven't been on here so long I couldn't find it. Hope you are all doing well.

We have all had colds and have taken awhile to feel better. Can't wait for Christmas as we are going away for a few days and then we have booked to goto New York in February. Wears excited as we haven't been there before.

Good morning!!!!

Bren, sending a healing prayer your way dear.

Christmas shopping today....I made my list, checked it twice, and passed out!!!!!

Got my coupons; got my jump to the front of the line TGIF coupon; my free fish or chicken dinner coupon; pains meds and ready to go

Prob not a good idea to wrap the fish and chicken and put under the tree. Unless someone has been really naughty. Then make sure that it is under thier tree.

Little set back - stitches got yanked out for some reason last night, call in to Dentist, and will find out soon.

My prayers to all of you and I'm hoping to get on to give each and every one of you personal love and attention. I'm sorry I've been a selfish friend lately and not giving you the prayer and attention you all deserve.

OUCH, Bren. Hope you feel better soon.

Me again.....

Don't know if I mentioned this, but my sister Camille GRADUATED from both Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy!!!!! Yep.....she was discharged from both. She walks with NO assistance!!!!!! Her hands are not as strong as they were, but she was able to, with the help of my BIL, stuff artichokes for Thanksgiving Day dinner!!!!!!!!

She went back to visit the Neurologic Intensive Care Unit and the nurses and doctors were hugging her and crying with her!!!!! Her surgeon practically swept her off her feet.

I shared so much of her journey with you all....and you all gathered around and lifted her in prayer....I wanted you to realize what you accomplished!!!!!!!!!!

I picked up a card to send to her to "congratulate" her on her graduation!!! It's the cutest card!

That is fantastic!!!! God is so good.

The best gift is your love. Christmas is not all about the gifts we wrap and put under our tree. I too will have less under the tree this year. May your Christmas be blessed beyond the gifts with the inner spirit of love. Sing with all your heart to The Lord and Christmas will be your's.

I'm so glad the best gift is love because I'll be handing out a lot of love this year for Christmas. Even my wrapping paper is made out of love.

Hello my dear friends,
I haven't really read all the post but do want to acknowledge a few people here. Linny, that is such wonderful news of Camille. Bren, that has to hurt. The worse pain to have is teeth and ear. Get some help, quickly! Maggie, sorry to hear your meds are having such bad side effects. They fix one thing and ruin 2 others. Check with your Dr.
Anna, I've been wanting to make bruscole for such a long time. You sound like you cook Sicilian. What region is your husband from? You're making me drool. I haven't eaten in about a week!
Christmastime is when depression sets in for a lot of people. If we focus on the meaning of Christmas, we will get by without material things. I am not into the Christmas spirit now and that makes me sad. Usually I am the one calling everyone and singing and telling everyone, "You have to feel the spirit of Christmas! See it through the eyes of a child!" I'm just not very happy right now.
Martica, don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure your children understand. As long as your able to be with them and enjoy them with love, your Christmas will be complete. (maybe some food, too)
Shana, I hope your children start to feel better. It's never easy when you have sick little ones. Hugs to you.
Yvonne, so happy for you to be able to be with your parents in Spain. Make some good memories. I'm going to try to get some sleep. Hugs to all of you.

EXACTLY! I don't know if it's an "age" thing or not, but that is exactly how I've been feeling lately. I'm pretty much fed up with the commercialism of the season. I think we, as a whole, were so much better off before "things" got in the way. I miss the Christmases of my childhood -- they were simple and memorable. My parents both immigrated here from Italy and when they got here they had NOTHING! My mother was (and is) a wonderful cook and she fed us well and they provided for us in so many ways other than with "things". We did always have gifts under the tree, but it was all in moderation. I must confess to overindulging my children and I'm trying to backtrack and undo some of that damage, but that is no easy feat! LOL

I've been telling my family that my New Year's resolution for next year is simple: I am refusing to step foot in any store on Sunday. I am going to devote my Sundays to faith/family/friends. I keep telling my kids how I have a vivid memory of how my father used to wash his car every Saturday and then go fill up the gas tank so he would have gas for work on Monday because gas stations were closed on Sundays -- along with all the other stores. I know there's an argument made for those who work very hard all week long and Sunday is the only day they can go shopping, and I don't have an answer to that except "to each his own", but I will be boycotting stores on Sunday next year!

Oh, and after my semi cleanup of my scrap space this weekend, I'm also going to stop overindulging myself on "supplies". I'm sure I can make enough layouts for 5 years with all the supplies I have!

Okay, now I'm stepping down from my soap box!

Jo, I so feel your pain this Christmas season. It's never easy to lose a loved one, but especially around the holidays. I lost my father 3 days before Christmas, and it was one of the toughest things to deal with. How do you celebrate the season while in so much pain? Fourteen years later, and I still don't have an answer to that. Hugs to you.

LOL about brasciole. My mom used to make it all the time when we were young and I loved it. I hadn't made it in a while and was just looking for something "different" to make (and something that I could throw into the crockpot (of course mom never made it in the crockpot!) My husband's family is from northern Italy (Abruzi I think), and my parents are from central Italy (Provinca Frosinone) about 2 hours from Rome.

Good morning sweet ladies. It is cold here today. It was 73 degrees when we went to bed last night. There was a huge storm blow through and the chill came with it. Winding and in the 50's. Freezing temps expected for tonight. I am such a weining and did not want to get out in it this morning to come to work. There is not a joint of muscle in my body that does not hurt today. I can do it thou. I just need to pray through the pain and cold and be thankful for what I have. A job! Now I better get to work and do that job. Love you all and praying for each of you. This is the time to celebrate the birth of our Lord. What more of a present should anyone need. I too am guilty of commercializing over the years. And the occasional pity party for myself when it seemed that I was always forgotten in that area. I am trying hard to remember this year that Jesus is the reason for the season. I am so glad that we all have each other when our human side is hurt and having trouble getting past all the bad in this world.

Thank you Lord for all these sisters that are so supportive. Please grant peace and healing for physical, emotional and financial hardships in each of these ladies. I pray in the name of our Savior Jesus.

Good morning everyone. It's cold, dark and rainy here.

Jo, I so understand your feelings about this time of year. It's a really hard time when you're grieving for a loved one.

I too hate the "commercialism" of Christmas. Why can't we all get back to that time when all that mattered was being together and not "how can we out do last year?" Anna, I'm going to try and do the same thing with my scrappy supplies. If I bought nothing else I'd have enough stuff to scrap for at least the next five years! It's crazy how we get caught up in the feeling that we just have to have every new thing that comes along!

Amen Lorna,

I told myself that no matter how I feel today, I will get a shower, get dressed and take a short drive. A bit of chilly air just might do me good. I'm sick to death of being sick. Then when I get back, I WILL do a little scrapping. I have a chipboard christmas tree album I'd like to work on.

Thank you all for the lovins'. Well I went to work, lasted 3 hours, went to RX and picked up pain pills and came home. I could work but I would more than likely make a mistake and I've had a hard enough year in that arena.

Jo I'll pray for your entire family. I so agree about the gift statements that last year I bought none and requested to receive none. I just wanted to celebrate the reason for the season. Had a great year too. This year I bought my loved ones one thing that they really wanted and feel just as blessed.

I woke up this morning and took sweet MaggieMae out at 4.45. When I left for work 1 hr later there was snow dusting the ground. It was beautiful but COLD. It's 34 right now and yesterday was 70. I think winter is finally making her appearance.

xoxo
