Evening Ladies,

I slept like a lump on a long last night! Thank goodness, I was starting to wonder if sleep was just an illusion! Felt great for my workout and spent the day doing the laundry and picking up around the house. Trying to decide what to tackle next.

I've been asked to teach a class at my local shop, The Stamping Post, on how to make your own personal Travel Journal. Thinking I'll use Teresa Collins new line Far and Away to design a sample. Did I mention that I'm now a 'Featured Designer' at my local shop? Deb, the shop owner, put up a dozen layouts of my original work (not my scraputante stuff) and she is quite happy to have me! It's so nice to be appreciated for a change! lol

Sounds like these plans are coming together nicely! So glad that many of your are going to get the chance to met and play! I wanna go ...

Have a nice evening ladies! Big hugs and much love to all!

Finally able to get on computer instead of phone--works ok for FB, but not so much here.

I am considering the scrappy trip--flights are priceier than I expected. 9 hr drive---hmmmm?!!

Rough night & day for me. Ended up in ER about 3am. Woke up with hives about 2, took benedryl but started to get short of breath. ER is about 5 miles from my house, so I woke up hubby to tell him I was going in. Thank God he insisted on taking me--because I passed out in the entrance--if I had passed out in the car driving there, I might not be typing this tonite to you lovely friends!! I started to pass out 2 more times before the ordeal was over. I was so swollen & red, they couldn't get an IV started until after 5 tries. The dr feared it was heart related--then I was really scared. After several hours of observation, blood work, EKG, chest x-ray, the dr sent me home with a predisone like meds, and orders to rest and come back if any symptoms returned. Their best guess is an allergic reaction, but they and I am clueless as to what. We ate about 7 pm, & food allergies usually present 20-30 minutes later. Wish I knew--no new meds, food, drink, cleaners, etc. Feeling very drained and skin is dry & unfomfortable--but not lobster-esque as earlier (and no itching--which is the worst!!!!) So sorry for the long post, but I wanted to update/report rather than FB.

Thank you in advance for your prayers!

Hey darlins....we survived the podiatrist; but won't be going back. Neither dh nor I was impressed....i cut dh's nails better! I can't believe it's so difficult to find a dr in all categories!!!!

Now, onto the retreat. Let me be clear....I've never been on any kind of retreat. I was supposed to go to one in Montana, but didn't think I could deal with the length of the trip...and yep, was nervous to go away by myself...never have!!!! So, from looking at the inn, it appears we do not go there to hang out and just have some vino....we are gonna be crafting??? So we need to pack our scrappy goodness stuff???? Hmmmm, how do you figure on what to pack.

I probably would be more comfy being in a double room.....but then I'd miss all the chit chat. Then I don't know if I have the nerve to get on a plane all by myself! What if I get kidnapped....what if my face turns up on a milk container!!!!! And I don't drive....who will take me places. I have to think of this one....it would be so wonderful to be able to hug everyone...I know me, pissy eyes will prob start crying!!!!!

Nighty nite

Dawna - of course you are invited!!!! Please just come be with us.

Shatema - Southwest airlines goes into Dallas Lovefield and then other airlines go to DFW airport. Don't forget to check a day earlier or day later or both. You can always hang out at my place and we'll just keep scrapping and do some Dallas touristy stuff.

Susie definitely praying for you and also hoping you can take the trip and be with us.

My dearest sister Linny. I am a recluse, social anxiety and I are best friends and I'm good at hiding out. I will drive you where ever you want to go. I have an SUV I just bought on Jan 31 of this year. It's safe and I have triple AAA. It's even got buttocks warmers if we get a cold chill (to me that's anything under 75). For the plane you make disability arrangements ahead of time and they will escort you on the plane and off the plane. And if I have to keep you company in your room until you fall asleep so you won't miss the fun then we can do that. If your dear husband wants to come so you won't have to be alone, he can stay at my place for the three days we're at the retreat. That way he would be with you for the travel. There is a bus stop right outside the gates of my complex that takes him to the metro and all the tourist sites. There's a hot tub and pool he could hang in while we're gone. There is most certainly a workable way for you to come be with your scrappy sisters and whatever you need to make you comfy we can find a way.

Martica - any chance you can join us in September. I believe the end of September would be cheaper flight wise but I'm happy with either.

Good morning ladies.
Susie, what an ordeal. I am praying for you sweetie.
Bren, that sounds so wonderful. I need to put in for the time. I will drive to Dallas so I will have a car too. I know that my BFF will want to come too. I am with Linny thou on what to bring. I guess I could pack my whole trunk full of goodies then we would have what we need. I have a cricut and big shot. Wonder what wonderful new line will be out then that we could share idea on.... HMMM OH I AM EXCITED!!!! Linny, please come... We need all our sisters.
Bren, I am still in. The plan is a good one.
Shatema, I will go take a closer look at your LO.

I went home last night and made Cheese Enchiladas and Spanish Rice. It was so good and I do not like Cheese Enchiladas. DH even sat down at the table and ate with Ashley and I. It was really nice to sit down together for a change. A nice evening. Praise God.

Have a beautiful day today ladies. Chill in the air here in the 40's but the sun is up and our Lord is in the air. A blessed day indeed.

Morning Ladies,

Yikes Suzie! What a scary night! Thank GOD you didn't drive yourself! So glad hubby was home to help you. I hate health mysteries, they are very unsettling. Take good care of yourself Suzie, we need you around here!

Bren, of course I feel welcome to join you, but like I said, I'm trying to take mom and dad on an RV trip later this summer, so I'll have to pass on this trip. Doesn't mean I still don't wanna go though ...

Linny...On a milk carton???...seriously girl you are too funny! Relax, your going to be in great hands. If you're really anxious about being on your own, meeting the ladies or accepting Bren's generous offer, consider taking hubby along and make it a blended trip. Rather than a scrappy retreat you can make it a scrappy vacation. You can spend the day time hours getting to know your scrappy friends and spend your evenings hours with hubby. That way he'll be right by your side to drive you, carry your goodies, help you on the plane and help you at your destination. I know hubby takes beautiful pictures so he could drop you off with the ladies and take a photography tour of the city one day and take in a little golf the next. This would give you both plenty to share over a nice quiet evening together. Yes you would miss out on the midnight giggles and refrigerator raid, but meeting your friends is the important part. Just a friendly suggestion.

My trainer and I had a nice long conversation about my sleep problem. We decided to try a cocktail of supplements and OMG, I slept for 6 hours last night! Tha'ts the first six hour streach I've gotten since before Thanksgiving last year! Feel ready to tackle the world today! Got to run, Ashley is here for her work out.

Hugs and much love to all of you!

I din't look thru all the info yet on the retreat, so may be a redundant question, but is there a big room with tables where we can scrap/hang out that would be "ours" for the duration. Especially so that we can spread out our treasures and equipment & not worry about packing it up all the time & would be secure?

Oh my.....I'm still mulling it all over in me head.....

Dawna, I missed your post yesterday....congrats sweet thing!!!!!!

Susie, like I posted on FB, that seemed to be all the symptoms of anaphalactic (sp) shock. Terribly scary....hope you all can figure out what caused it.

OK.....it's a dreary, rainy day here....just ask me joints!

Wow Susie, I would be freaked out with the not knowing what caused it. I sure hope it doesn't come back at ya.

Good to see the retreat plans are still on. I'm so excited for you all. I still remember the first get together with the Divas. Those memories stay with you forever. I still giggle over Bren trying to order StarBucks coffee from Caribou's.

Dawna, huge congrats. You are officially a Design Star. So what kind of cool stuff are you going to teach your class?

Good Morning to everyone else. Hope y'all are having a wonderful day.

Bren, that is a good way to put it... I am a recluse too and social enxiety is truly my best friend, probably why I drink too much.

I have never been to a scrap retreat or anything else to do with scrapbooking so I'm a newbie.
Had the pleasure to meet Bren and Lorna last summer while driving thru Texas and they are so sweet. I will look forward to meet them again and to see/meet more of my SB friends (sorry to miss some of you that I really would like to meet too).

How do you know what to bring? Bren do you have a list for items to take on getaway retreats?
