Hi all,
I an not new to Scrapbook.com, just haven't been here in so long that I forgot my old login name and password. :-(
Anyhoo, I came back looking for Sizzix eClips users. I have been researching it all weekend and I think I am going to take the plunge (after I sell my Cricut Expression on Ebay) but just wanted to get some opinions.
Sooo.....any eClips fans around?

I don't have it- but after seeing the Tim Holtz/eClips announcement a couple days ago, I'm now a FAN and wanting it badly! Even the packaging looks great!!
So, I've told myself- if I will start using my Cricut E2 more- then I can justify needing ANOTHER cutter- (plus the ability to cut my own designs with their software!).
I really like the control for it, too!

Check out the Craftwell eCraft machine ---- it doesn't need a mat to cut / can cut any length from a roll of paper or vinyl.
It's pretty intriguing. If I didn't already have a Silhouette & Cricut Expression ---- I would try this one.

Thanks! Although I am pretty much sold on the eClips, I'll check it out.

What I'm hearing, from the handful of folks I know that have tried it...it's got a significant learning curve. Very. And the "no mat" thing doesn't end up as nicely as you'd expect.
While I have almost every cutter, just to play with, it's steered me away from the eCraft myself.
The eclips temps me, but then other bright shiny things distract me, and I never get around to it.

Idk.. Wouldn't do the eClips, I have one, and I hate it.. :\ Maybe its because I haven't had the chance to really sit and learn it..

I don't have an eclips, but I do have one of the yellow giant klicknkuts, and I hate it too. Way too high of a learning curve for me, I really wish I would have been able to play with one before I spent a boatload of moola. I am only interested in something I can pull out of the box, fiddle for 5 minutes or less, and go to town. I am going to sell my huge beast klick n kut, anybody interested?

I think that the small handheld device sucks.. Its really small & I can never read the little letters & all the options on the buttons.. maybe its just because my eyes are wonky.. IDK?

I love my eClips...I love all of my cutters though. What other cutter are you looking at? I can tell you the pros/cons of most.

I just saw the stamp and cut designs from Tim Holtz and I would consider getting one for that reason if I wanted a cartridge system. I figured it was a matter of time before he had his own carts for that machine. It reminds me of the Cricut with the gypsy attached.

I used to daydream about a Tim Holtz Cricut cartridge. I guess this is as close as it gets... LoL
The car did look very cool, tho.
And dangit the packaging looks so great.

The only other one I even considered was the Silhouette, and that was because of the SCAL factor. But is looks like the eClips has one upped the Silhouette since it also uses SCAL (or eCal) plus the Tim Holtz stamps.
I am totally done with anything Cricut related.

I have an eClips, Expression2, Imagine, Slice, Pazzles & Cameo...all for different reasons. I'm a total tool addict, so I usually can't wait when I see something I want. Out of my cutters, I definitely use the Imagine, eClips & Cameo the most right now. I've had many other cutters that I thought I'd hang on to but have given away/sold...including the wishblade (my first cutter), expression (replaced with e2), original slice (replaced with elite), silhouette (replaced with cameo). I think if you're looking for all around versatility the eClips or Cameo are definitely the route to take if avoiding cricut.
