Neat! Thanks also for linking to your blog in your actual post instead of referring people to the link in a signature - this is very helpful for those of us who have signature viewing turned off, and I really appreciate it.

Has anyone ever recycled a gift bag to use as matting on a layout? I found this very pretty gift bag at the Dollar Tree that I thought would look great. I have also used nail polish on buttons and taken apart a necklace to use the gems for a quick/easy pop of color.

I have used lost barbie doll jewelry or packageing from the boxes. I have also used chains or charms from quarter machines that my kids have played. Cards from a deck of cards that some had been lost. I recently found some wall shelves that were made like birdhouses and used to display ceramic birds......these were a dollar apiece at dollar discount but they work perfect for my glitter and stickles bottles each shelf holds sixteen bottles and the glitter looks so pretty on my wall.

I bought this belt at our local Goodwill store, but you can find them at yard sales, any thrift stores, etc.. I run into one about every other month, I would probably find them more often but I don't shop that much anymore. I use a TON of found objects on my layouts. I have used: Earrings, all kinds of belts, from canvas, leather, to plastic, metal. I have used kids toys, packaging, bobbi pins, regular cards, flash cards, children's books, postcards, book markers, feathers, seam tape (looks like ribbon) items from the tool box, wallpaper, ANYTHING I can find that is flat enough goes on my pages. Almost all of the flowers on my layouts come from the regular silk flower sections found at dollar tree, or dollar general, I just take them off the stem, stick a brad in, and I'm good to go. There are more frugal tips on my blog further down on the blog, you just have to scroll down to find them. I try to post at least one a month. To the best of my knowledge I am the only one who has ever taken these belts apart, but it's too good of a secret not to share, especially when times are hard. Love Penny Scrap-aholic@blogspot.com P.S. Please keep the tips coming I'm always open to new one's myself.

Great idea! Don't forget to check your local thrift stores for frugal crafting purchases like ledger paper, old books, buttons, sheet music, graph paper. . .
