**Prize Categories**

(prize amounts will be based upon the number of players)

1. Most Points Overall: no matter what your goal was if you meet your goal and if you have the most points at the end of the month, then you are the winner in this category.

2. Most Points 10 or Fewer Layouts: If you set your goal at 10 or fewer layouts and you meet your goal BUT do not exceed 10 layouts for the month then you are eligible for this category. If you complete more than 10 LOs then that moves you to other prize categories.

***NEW***3. FAVORITE PROJECT Vote: At the end of the month if you meet your goal and are eligible for prizes, YOU will choose your favorite project created for this month and uploaded to your gallery by the deadline. Then you will send the gallery link to me in a pm after the challenge closes. I will post a poll with all of the eligible favorite projects for the Scrapbook.com community to vote on for 2 days (48 hours). The project with the highest number of votes after the poll closes will win this category. **If there is a tie, a sudden death vote lasting 24 hours will take place.**

4. Most Daily Challenges Completed: A new daily challenge will be posted everyday. If you complete the highest number of daily challenges and keep track of how many you complete in a blog on sb.com during the month, then you will be eligible for a prize in this category. If there is a tie, then there will be a drawing using random.org. Daily challenges are usually meant to be completed on a layout, a card, or an altered project. There will be few day specific challenges but generally you will be able to complete the daily challenges at your own pace and you may combine several of them on the same project. (PLEASE NOTE: To be eligible for this category, please start a blog at sb.com to list your challenges completed.)

5. Random Drawing of Everyone Who Meets Their Monthly Layout Goal: Meet your monthly layout goal and there will be a drawing done on random.org of everyone who met their goal but did not win in another category.

***** You will only be eligible for prizes having met your monthly layout goal. Each paying player may only win in ONE category.*****

Layouts are counted towards your goal in the following manner:
*8x8 or above including 6x12, 8.5x11, 12x12=1 layout (2 pagers count as 2 layouts)
*2 6x6 = 1 layout
*3 4x6 or 5x5=1 layout
*4 mini layouts (3x3, 4x4 etc.)= 1 layout
**Cards do not count toward your layout goal, but you can count points for them.**
*Altered items and other projects can be counted as "layouts" based on the amount of work you put into them. If you aren't sure how many layouts a project is “worth”, just ask!

**A note for people who'd like to play for prizes, but not keep track of points; as long as you link/post your layouts to the thread, you can still be eligible for categories 3, 4, and 5 of prizes!**

WHEN YOU SIGN UP, PLEASE POST YOUR LAYOUT GOAL FOR THE MONTH! YOU MAY CHANGE YOUR GOAL ANYTIME BEFORE SIGN-UPS CLOSE on the 10th of the month!

Today is my youngest son's birthday. Xander is 7 today. So tell me 7 things you would want if it was your birthday. Dream big!!! +77

3/2: Today is Dr. Seuss birthday!! Make a layout or card that is somehow related to him. Use one of his book titles as the title of your layout. Use some of the words out of one of his books as a quote/journaling on card or layout. Anything is acceptable as long as it relates to Dr. Seuss somehow!! +125 points

Here is a link to the books by Dr. Seuss: http://www.seussdude.com/list-books.html

And here is a great site for Dr. Seuss quotes: Dr. Seuss Quotes

3/3-Give yourself +110 points due to my slackness!!

3/4-It is so dreary, cold and rainy here..and it has been for several days..so today in celebration of it being SUNday..use a SUN on a layout or card or use the word SUN in your title for +300 points!!

03/05: Start the week off with a solid mess! Try paints, gouaches, acrylics, doodling, inks, gels, sprays or mists – use at least 3 types of paint or ink (not 3 colours, but 3 different kinds). For example, use acrylic paint, a marker and a misting spray or gouache, acrylic gel and stamped ink. Enjoy! 150pts.

03/06: I was feeling inspired yesterday listening to a Taylor Swift song, so I thought for today, the challenge is to use the title of a Taylor Swift song as your LO title! +150pts

03/07: Use the following colour scheme, called Beach Brights, on your LO today for 150pts! Include as many of the colours as you can and avoid including too many other colours not part of the scheme.

March AGC - Beach Brights Colour Scheme By Laurink

03/08: Today create a two page layout with multiple photos (minimum of 4 photos) for 150pts.

~*~MARCH MONTHLY CHALLENGE~*~

For the March Monthly Challenge, you are going to use the Scrapbook.com Scrap by Color tool. There are 2 ways to choose the main color for your layout. You can use “Photo Match” or the color wheel. Photo Match analyzes a picture(s) you upload to the Scrap by Color tool and shows you the main colors in the picture(s) you uploaded. For the color wheel option, you simply select a color from the color wheel and the choose the shade of the color you want to be your main color. You are going to have the opportunity to use both of the options to choose a main color for your 4 layouts + 1 layout/card/altered item (5 projects total).

Three (3) of the layouts must be done by uploading a photo or photos and using the Scrap by Color tool to analyze the colors that are in the photo(s) and choosing one of the resulting colors as your main color. One (1) layout must be a color that you choose from the color wheel. The 5th project can be either the photo color analyzer or a color you choose on your own.

If you look at the top right hand side of the scrap by color page you will see 5 different color schemes you can choose from using the main color: Monochrome, Complementary, Triadic, Analogous, and Split Complementary. If you click on each of these after you have chosen your main color, it will show the other colors that are monochrome, complementary, analogous, etc. For the monthly challenge you are to make one project using each of the 5 options available on the top right side of the scrap by color page. You are going to get your main color by uploading a minimum of 3 different pictures or sets of pictures for your layouts, 1 color you choose from the color wheel for a layout, and 1 that can be either your choice or based on the photo analysis.

Once you have your main color, and you have selected your color scheme, you will make a project with the colors that the Scrap by Color tool provides. Here are some examples of what the screen might look like when you have the results you are going to use on your project:

Scrap By Color: Monochrome (March AGC) By Megan Ann

Scrap By Color: Monochrome Sketch Example (March AGC) By Megan Ann

Scrap By Color: Complementary (March AGC) By Megan Ann

Scrap By Color: Triadic (March AGC) By Megan Ann

Scrap By Color: Analogous (March AGC) By Megan Ann

Scrap By Color: Analogous Sketch Example (March AGC) By Megan Ann

Scrap By Color: Split Complementary (March AGC) By Megan Ann

You can post your projects as you complete them and take your points for them as the month progresses. However, you do not receive any Monthly Challenge points until you have complete the monthly challenge.

When you complete all 5 projects (one with each color scheme) please post all 5 projects together in one post and label which color scheme each project used, then take +1200 pts for completing the March Monthly Challenge!

N.B. There is a video tutorial that you can find on the Scrap by Color page (see link in 1st paragraph) that explains how to use the scrap by color tool. You can watch it if you need to, though the tool is pretty self-explanatory and user friendly. Also PLEASE ask any questions you have, chances are someone else had the same or a similar question.

Challenge Volunteers! These are the new rules for people who want to volunteer to do a week of challenges.
1.The weekly challenge cannot be worth more than 400 pts.
2.The daily challenges can only be worth 150 pts with one exception per week up to 300 pts. So 6 days of 150 points or less and one challenge up to 300 points.
3.The daily challenges should generally be something that can be incorporated into ANY LO. Not a challenge that you must make a LO for that you wouldn't have made otherwise. But it CAN require you to make a whole LO for one challenge per week.
4.Picture challenges can only be worth up to 250 pts total added up for all pictures. There should not be more than 6 pictures for the weekly photo challenge.
5. You SHOULD post the challenge by 10 AM EST (which is 7AM PST) OR post the challenge the night before, preferably after 9PM your time.

Hi Megan....this sounds so interesting and like just the thing to kick me in the scrap pants to get me going again. I'm only thinking that I'm going to probably have questions along the way, so if you don't mind me bugging you now and then, I'd love to play.

Our paypal is all wonky right now b/c we've switched banks, so I'll just send a check if that's OK.

My goal will be 10 LO's.

Great! So good to see you all! I will update the players list later...now I am going to grab some scrapping time while Kayla is at work!

Hey Lori! We never mind questions! This is a very helpful & supportive group! Some of the ladies have been in the challenge longer than I have been hosting it! (And I have been hosting 2 1/2 years!) So they know the ropes & help me out with fielding questions! It is great to have you!

WELCOME Lori & Brenda!

Welcome back Jade, Shalene, and Angie!
