Henri that sounds pretty good for what you are going thru. I understand it. My son had the glued on electrodes and did those tests a couple of times before they got enough to see. Warning, it hurts when they take them off. I believe they told us to use fingernail polish remover to get the last of the glue out. Then lots of conditioner. He had his arms tied to boards and mesh looking gloves on his hands to protect his IVs. He was never allowed to go to bathroom alone anyway, so the risk stuff was just standard for him. He was never well controlled w meds. The cameras kind of always film in black light state. But it all lights up like Christmas if they think they see anything or the monitor trips it. You will get used to that. I'm glad they are doing it now. Sometimes the waiting can be so stressful. Just better to get it over with.
Keep the faith. It will all be for the good!!

Do you know what lobe of the brain they are going into? Chase was at where the occipital and parietal lobes meet.

No idea. Just know it is close to the ear whee they will go in.

Joe said they glued the things down on him too so I appreciate the advice to get them off. I'm thinking maybe Goo Gone.

He has bandages all over his head and forehead to hold the electrodes in place too as well as under his chin.

I am thrilled they decided to go ahead and admit him today - that takes away some of the stress.

They said some go home in 24 hours but that is unusual. Usually its 3-4 days, sometimes 5 days.

Joe has seizures really quickly when he doesn't take his meds. They want petit mals, they won't want him to have grand mals so they are decreasing meds slowly.

You have really been a good support for me Sheryl. Its so good to know someone who has been through it and the story had a most happy ending! Give us hope.

Henri, thanks for the update! Sounds like the docs are in an upbeat state, so that is great news!

Work today is....work.

We were (are) supposed to take the kids tonight to a "circus" (I am not sure exactly what it is), but Hayden woke up puking, so I am not sure what is going down now.

Thank you so mcu! Bill just ttexted me that they are doing the strobe light test. They did that in Georgia and it worked to induce seizures.

When Bill told me they were doing it I started trembling. He texted again and just said, "Done".

I just texted him to try to find out if it worked.

Bill just brought me back to the hotel. Joe is doing great but he will not have a seizure!

At home if he misses one night he can have 3 greand mall seizures the next day. They even gave him the strobe light treatment and he did't seizure.

When I left him I told him - Joe, please have some seizures for me to night. Then we can take you home.

He and Bill were having a marathon of cop-type shows - Cops, Police WOman and other similar shows. But they enjoy them.

The first time DS had that done, he was in for a week and never had one. So frustrating. The next time, I think we were there like 3 days. He had several, but no grand mal.

Henri—Maybe Bill and Joe need to quit watching shows they like and start watching Honey BooBoo or something. I've seen very little of her and her mother, but I'm sure a Honey BooBoo marathon would give anyone a seizure!

Hopefully he'll have some tonight and they'll be able to make plans for the next step. ~Judy

I texted Joe and haven't heard anything back but they may still be sleeping. I"m sure I will hear something soon.

We did get excellent news - Joe is on social secuirty disability and between Medicare and Medicaid - this hospital visit and everything associated is paid 100%! We thougth we would have to come up with 20% and since Joe can't work, we were really happy to find out that he is covered!

Just got home from the hospital. Still no seizures.

However, talked to Joe's doctor tonight and he said that even though Joe has not had a seizure his brain has been very active. So far, still confirming that all abnormal cells are on the left side.

He said from the readings they are getting, he feels that seizures will start tomorrow or Monday. He said he would like Joe to have several little ones so they can get him on meds again and avoid a gran mal.

He told us not to get frustrated, Joe has only been here for 2 days. Seizures may not come for another day or two, or even several days after that. The activity and readings they are getting indicates that he is ready to start seizuring.

Actually they started decreasing meds on Thursday night which would not have affected him before Fridy morning before the time he regularly takes his pills. So he has only been affected by med reduction for a day and a half now so the doctor said it was still early and would have have been surprised if seizures started already.

He is very optimistic with the results so far - all abnormal activity is where he thought it was from and hoping it was from, in a place where it will be easiest to operate. It would be a problem if abnormal activity was coming from different places but his is all showing to be from the same place!
