Only 12 x 12s! I chronologically scrap so my vacations fall right in line.

Right now I'm posting China. As soon as I'm through with that I will start posting Vietnam, then Singapore and then Australia, Hawaii, then back to Hawaii for another month.

Because I have so many and do so much research and journal so much of what we did everyday that I don't use a lot of embellies, I let the photos and journaling tell the story.

I usually scrap 12x12 and mostly put my vacation layouts in with other layouts; however, I do have a couple of separate vacation books and they are also 12x12.

That said, I am currently working on a vacation book for my mom using the Art Parts large binder book which measures 3.75 x 5.25.

I take a lot of photos so 12 x 12 is my favorite for travel albums.

Generally speaking I do 12x12s for vacations since I always take so many photos. But this last vacation I did a 10x7 mini but I still managed to get over 70 photos in! I'm still going to scrap 12x12s of some of my favorites for my yearly album.

I am a 12x 12 scrapper. I scrap all my photos. I also take tons of pics so I love the big size.

12x12...I made like two 8x8 albums. Cute but too small. I did buy an 8x11 album...I really LOVED the design. Haven't used it yet though. yeah...I'm a 12x12 kinda gal =)

Depends on the size of the trip.

Big trips get their own album, usually 12x12. 2 trips to the same place might go in the same album.

Medium trips might get a smaller album, like 8x8.

Small trips get a few pages in the family album, which is usually 12x12.

I prefer scrapping 12x12, but sometimes I mix it up. Just because.

Great, thank you all! I was going to do an 8x8 for each of two trips (one three day and one four day, back to back). But I think I will do 12x12s. I am trying to do my mom's scrapbook as an 8x8, and it's too small!!

I like to scrap multiple pix on each page --- so 12 X 12 is what I almost always use. When we went to Hawaii for our anniversary (a once in a life-time trip for us) I took almost 1500 pix. So many beautiful pix ---- but there is no way I can scrap that many pix! So I am using those page protectors that have multiple spaces to place pix in between my scrapped pages & at the end of the book that go with the pix I scrapped.
I hope to have time eventually to work on a digital scrapbook of that trip.

I've done a couple that were 8x8 and one that was 12x12. I've recently gone back through old photos and have been scrapping old trips--all of the those are 12x12 and in one album (5-6 trips, anywhere from 2 pages to lots of pages).

I take so many photos on vacation so I always use 12 x 12 for travel albums.

12 x 12 for everything. I take a lot of photos so you can get a lot on a page or just enlarge a singe one or two that are really good and showcase them.

My vacation albums are the same as all my albums--8.5 x 11. They are right in with everything else--chronologically.

I'm a 12X12 puriset.

but lately i realized that if I don't start really thinking about it - I'll never catch up.
so I'm thinking of one of thoese printed book - at 8X8 so there all would be the same size, that would take off the prasure and i could allways scrap a layout or 2 in my albums in any case. :-)

I put a lot of pictures on a page too!

After a trip I print 1,400-1,800 photos! THen what I don't scrap I give to friends and family. I don't keep photos that are not in my scrapbooks because they will never be looked at again.

I also normally have 100's of pictures I want to scrapbook after a trip and love multi picture LO's. Bigger trips I always use 12x12, but for some smaller once I have used other sizes, just to see how that worked for me. And if I have just a few pictures (30-60) I give it a try.
Recently I am learning that I do not NEED to scrap every picture and it is okay to occasionally leave some out if they don't fit in anywhere!

I agree. I find that I actually scrap a very small number of photos that I actually take! BUt I do fill my pages with photos - want to keep enough to tell the story.

For me it always depends on the vacation. For example, Disney World usually requires 2 12 x 12 albums because I take so many pictures. It is hard to leave certain pictures out too because of all the different rides and characters, etc. I have done 8 x 8 albums though on vacations that just my husband and I went on, because I seemed to take less pictures without the kids. Plus I enjoy doing a different size because 12 x 12 is my typically size for everyday scrapping as well.

I'm currently doing an 8x8 album to send to my inlaws in New Zealand and am finding it way too small. I will finish it as is and send it but it's frustrating. By the time you put one photo or a couple mini photos on a page there is not much room for anything else. I like to embellish and use techniques on my pages and I'm finding that I can't do much of that at all on 8x8 books.
The album that I do for us to keep will be 12x12 for sure....

12x12. I have one travel mini - a weekend trip from 1995 that I scrapped in 2009 - there wasn't enough to do a whole 12x12 album of it, but more than two 12x12 pages' worth (so too much to stick in my catch-up album - I don't do more than one or two pages in my main albums for a trip that I've done a full album of). So I used a little 6x8 album. I think that was my first mini, actually. (I don't think of 8x8 as mini, because of the page protectors and traditional binding, but anything where either dimension is smaller than that, definitely.)

12 x 12 are just easier to get more pictures on one page. I usually have 200-300 pictures and my Alaska cruise had over 900 pictures. I want to get the most out of my pages.

We have professional portraits done when we went to Jamaica and Key West and I made mini albums with those in addtional to the 12 x 12.

In high school I started with a 8.5x11 - I added the pages to one my mom made for me. It worked just fine, but when I bought my first vacation album I went with 12x12. Next trip I tried a 8x8.. but it was hard to do cause it was small and my brain just could not think in a 8x8 mode. I now have 3 vacations to scrap and am thinking about doing a mini for each. Of course I have been thinking about making minis to sell at our local craft fair this fall and would need to have some example for display... so that may have factored in a bit

ETA: Some of the mins I have been looking at have room for around 40 pictures and that should work for 2 of our trips, and the last one I may have to go back to a 12x12, but since I am making the mini anyway, I will see if I can make it work.

I do 12 x 12 pages most of the time but recently started a mini album for our cruise excursion to Grand Cayman. I try to be as flexible as possible so that I don't become stagnant.

I have tried other sizes but the 12x12 is what seems to work best for me. Lots of room to play!

I use 12x12 for everythings. I have tried to go smaller and I just don't feel like I can get the pages to look the way I want on a smaller canvas. Not to mention I'm a camera freak and take way to photos. I have been trying to trim down on taking photos but it's hard
