So I was in the fabric store today and on a whim I bought some linen, some burlap, some plain cotton and some denim.....thinking I'd make some flowers. I like natural fabrics so I went with the above....
I also got some wooden buttons to go with the burlap for centres....
Now I just have to figure out how to make them!
I'm sure I can google it or check youtube but anyone on here made fabric flowers before?
I've only made the ones out of paper.....
What have I gotten myself into? Yikes!

I use my Big Shot all the time to cut fabric. Just make sure you use the steel rule dies and not the thin ones.

You can also use Stiff Stuff on them if you want to use them as decorations on a card / gift bag etc.

Do you know if you can use Spellbinders to cut fabric?
The circle one would be really handy if it would work......

I'm not sure as I've never tried it.
I wouldn't think so because they are thin, but you could try it.
You could also use it as a template (stencil) and free hand cut it

I've used a large punch on some fabric. Depends on the fabric.

I've also stiffened some fabric, using paper glaze.

Here are a couple of videos for making fabric flowers:

There are all kinds of ways to make fabric flowers:
Cut circles and stack/layer
cut flower shapes and layer
use fabric strips, rolling and/or folding to create a flower
stitch fabric circles and gather for 'yo-yos'

Do you have the Slice Fabrique? I do but have not used to cut anything yet.

Ok, I've discovered that Spellbinders will cut light cotton/linen type fabric but I had to run it through my BigShot twice....

Now, I like the flowers that pop up a bit. If I lay them down in concentric circles they are too flat for my liking....do I have to sew them or is there an easier way??
I hate sewing (except on paper )

These should work, although I haven't tried them myself.
