Hello...I am looking to purchase a new scrapbook because my old one has fallen apart. I don't want that to happen again- so I'm going to purchase one from creative memories. I am trying to find out the difference between the regular coverset albums and the custom ones (besides the fact taht you design the custom ones). But what about the texture? Are the custom ones still nice and soft or do they feel cheap? I have made storybooks from other places before and they are hard and just okay but nothing special. thank you!

I'm a consultant.

Custom coversets are shiny because they are made using a printing process. They do not feel cheap, they just don't have bookcloth on them.

Thank you for replying! Is one nicer than the other? I so wish I could see them first.

They're both equally nice, they just have different purposes. Bookcloth is a solid color cloth or has a specific design imprinted on it. The custom covers can be made using a single photo, the pre-designed templates on the digital center or a completely original layout designed by you.

Would I do every album I make as a custom coverset? No, because I only want to do them for the extra special albums, like a wedding or a special trip. But that's just my opinion. Most of my albums are the cloth covered ones simply because they're run of the mill what we did every year albums.

I love the cloth covered ones, I have heard you can heat emboss them but I haven't tried. They are great albums

I love all cm stuff but I'm anal and dust allergic so I don't buy the cloth with that in mind -

I would think over the years they would have to be kept in a plastic cover to keep the dust from setting in?

I don't find that they get any dustier than any other album and if you dust regularly, they're fine.
