No one was injured in the fire. The building has been vacant for several years now.
My mom, dad, and most of the aunts and uncles had their services there. It was a beautiful building and the living quarters for the family was amazing.
It had been in the family for over 70 years.
My BIL is the youngest and last member of the family except for his SIL with whom he is in litigations with over the funeral home. She lives out of the country and cannot return until all of this mess is cleared up. She is the one we suspect of the arson. She owed $50,000.00 on the property taxes or the place was going on the sheriffs sale. She is actually the only one I see that has motive, since the insurance payment was quite large.
It has been up for sale for about 2 years. I think my BIL could have handled that, but for someone to have torched it, is like a slap in the face to him and his family.
