What is the best Cricut cartridge to purchase first?

I am looking to make circles with pretty edges and so forth.

I love Storybook.

I'd look into the following & see what suits your tastes the most:

Art Philosophy (available through CTMH - not in stores)
Elegant Edges
Paper Lace (I prefer Paper Lace 1 over Paper Lace 2)

I think Elegant edges is one of the best carts ever made. it has borders, oblong shapes, shadows for the oblongs and shadows for the original shape. I suggest going to the cricut website and searching the cartridge library. You can see all the manuals to almost all the carts (sometimes the newest carts take a wile to be uploaded) there and choose one that will fit your style. Ex. A Child's Year is very lifelike, non cutesy which I don't eally care for where as Create A critter is very cutesy and great for kid layouts if cutesy is your style (like me). Best of luck to you!
