the clear stickers that go over the tabs are going to cost a fortune.Anyone have any ideas to save on tabs?

I was quoted by my LSS store here that 12 tabs would be $6.99......I could see using more than 12 in one album.....

Anybody have any ideas....???

Could you use something like clear contact paper and punch that as well to get the right shape?

Seems like you could also punch them out of clamshell plastic.

Is there such as thing as adhesive clear acetate or plastic sheets?

I love that the stickers just fit over, stick on and protect the punch but wow, they are expensive.

Grafix probably has something, they make lots of plastic sheet stuff.

you could just as easily use clear packing tape?? Put the tape over the paper then punch. Yes, no?

I would think that would be even better than stickers actually. I haven't seen these demo'ed so forgive me if I am wrong because thinking they do not work any different than a regular punch. But with stickers, you have to line things up perfectly after punching...packing tape you just put on before you punch and it is nearly the same thing I would think?

I saw the demo also!! Was so excited until they showed the accessory pack you will need to bind them. It's a money sucker that's for sure.

Punch the acetate sheets and then run through the xyron.

something like these could work:

http://www.staples.com/Avery-1-Index-Tabs-wi th-Printabl...

They're not the fancy shapes, but they're cheap, plastic, adhesive, and can be trimmed to a shape...I don't think they're acid-free, but if you're sticking them to the outside of the page protectors, I don't imagine it matters...

Of course, these could be used without the fancy punches too!

I'm w/you (and others on this thread), Photobear...I admired those punches online, over and over, but couldn't see repeatedly paying that much for the sticker pkgs. I have been thinking that self-adhesive laminating sheets would work, although it would be more tedious -- I don't know if they would punch, so you would have to manually trim around the tab.

I opted not to buy the punch, thinking I wouldn't use it that much (I don't make books), instead planning on using my Elegant Edges Cricut cart and cutting the selected image in half to make a tab. Too, w/a deep-cut blade (which I don't have), you could probably cut the laminating sheet w/the Cricut, too. [or other die-cut machine]

I have one of these punches and the stickers that go over them....you do have to line them up.
I don't actually use it that much....
I guess if you had a need to make a whole bunch of tabs, it would be worth it, but I much prefer the premade ones and/or my TH sizzix die that does tabs......
I'm sorry that I bought it and feel it was a waste of money...

I'm confused. Are you sure she has the price right? We sell them for $3.99.

In Canada the price is high and from here, the shipping is high. Just the way it is.
