Hey All! I was looking through my gallery this morning and noticed that one of my LO's has been pinned on Pinterest 12 times. I didn't pin it there once. Is there a way to find those pins on the site or see who pinned them?

If you go to the Pinterest site and search the name of your layout, you will see who pinned it.

So if you don't want your work pinned can you stop it?

I think the only way to stop people from pinning your layouts is to not upload them to the internet...not just sb.com.

On sb.com, you can not allow "public embedding" when you're uploading the image. I'm not sure if that means it can't be pinned, but it can prevent people from sharing to FB, etc so I'd think so.

Based on my own experience pinning things, I have come across things that couldn't be pinned, based on permissions somehow. When I tried to pin them, pinterest gave me a message saying it was blocked/permission to pin denied, or some such thing. and the originator of the image can file a complaint with Pinterest to have your pin removed - that happened with a hairstyle image that I pinned, the site complained to Pinterest about copyright.

That's actually incorrect. Public embedding is when you embed the photo of the project and it has the name of the artist with a link back to the gallery page. It has nothing to do with being able to share the page on FB or Pinterest. All one has to do is copy and save someone's image from their gallery OR copy and paste the image link and it can be shared anywhere.

Allowing public embedding is a good thing, it makes sure that when people use it, it provides a photo that links back to the original gallery and original artist. Without allowing it, nobody can do that with your work so they can post your photo and there is NO link back to your gallery and nobody knows you created it.

That's not really what Public Embedding is.....it doesn't stop anybody from sharing your photos at all. Public embedding gives you the picture of a layout with the creator's info.....allowing it is a positive thing, not a negative. I think a lot of people misunderstand how this works and so they don't allow public embedding because they think that means other can steal their photos. That's not true at all. Whatever you post here can be copied and pasted, public embedding or not.

Just curious, but why don't you want your work pinned?

If you have given the credit in your Gallery, and the pin points back to the Gallery, the credit you have given for the sketch will be saved with the pin. If that makes any sense?

I'm so glad you started this thread. My ego got the better of me, so I started checking my gallery.

To that end, there is a way to check who's pinned. click the link/image of your page when you're on Pinterest. At the bottom, they list the repins. It's like falling down the rabbit hole, though.

Even with the public embedding box checked, when you hit the link on pinterest, it goes start to the sb.com homepage. It doesnt link to my gallery.

I did that to and there was no one else. But on my LO it says it was pinned a dozen times!
