Can you or would you use the new fine tip Sharpie pens in your scrapbook? Not the markers but the "new" fine tips pens they have come out with. I was looking at them today, they have such cool colors. The package says they are acid free, but would you still or has anyone used them in there scrapbooks?
Just curious!

I've used them and so far have had no problem with them. Actually, I didn't even give it much thought, it was there and I used it. I'd be interested to hear what others say.

I'm not sure if I've tried the pen, I don't even remember what I have now for sharpies, but I would use them. The sharpies are pretty good for acrylic and other nonporous surfaces, they don't smudge as easily.

I always look at the big packages of Sharpies in CostCo and office supply stores ... so many colors, so tempting .... but please tell me they're bad somehow because I do NOT need another obsession, I'll have to have ALL the colors, lol.

Yes!! This was me today. I was in Office Depot and wanted every color! Thank you for the replies. I think I have found something else to collect.

I've used the fine-tipped markers and had no problems so I would think the pens would be fine.

I use the Bic version of Sharpies for almost all my journaling. Never been an issue, and can't beat the price!

I use the regular sharpie markers and their white paint marker in my books; however, they aren't a substitute for Copics because Copics are alcohol ink.

I have a link to an alcohol marker comparison chart that lists about 10 different brands, their price, specs etc. I can't post it here as it also contains links to online stores, but let me know if you'd like it and I'll PM you.

NO--when you go back a year or two later you'll see a "greasy" cloud around all the Sharpied areas

Sorry...

There are acid free Sharpie markers that won't leave a cloud but the regular Sharpies will leave the cloud and it won't take long too terribly long to notice, like Mrs Jocco said.

did you use the fine tip acid free Sharpie markers like the poster is talking about? They're more like pens and not markers. I've used them a lot and have had no problems whatsoever. Regular Sharpie markers, on the other hand, do not hold up and do what you mentioned.

I thought I heard/read somewhere that sharpies were good for slick surfaces like photos and transparencies. Yesterday I wanted black letters and was too lazy to dig out black paint. I saw a wide tip Sharpie and used that. It worked great and fast! Although the smell lingered.
