Mostly I just cut cardstock to size and score it to make the card. Envelopes I get from paper companies like ARC in Las Vegas, or I make my own. Sometimes I don't do envelopes, just give the card or attach it to a package.

they have 5.5x5.5 at Michaels,,,,,,I usually make my own card bases at 5.5 and then use clear envelopes (EBAY) to mail them in.

I found them at Joann's when I was making my wedding invitations.

I've gotten them at JoAnn, also.

But they are pretty flimsy, so I usually make my own.

I have always gotten mine at M's and I just ordered some online for a really good deal. 3.95 for 25.

I get mine from J's or make my own.

If you're mailing them, they cost more since they're square.

If you are really into making your own... any size including boxelopes you can look into purchasing a Crafters Companion. You can do absolutely any size and make the matching envelope. It's a nifty gadget tool to own. I love mine... I got the Deluxe kit which included several more plates and helpful DVDs.

I make envelopes wi patterned paper I'm not quite so crazy about anymore. I love the Martha Stewart score board. It has envelope maker and some sizes.

Thanks for all the suggestions! ilooked here first of course..the ones they have have patterns on them. I want plain white. I didn't know it cost more to mail square cards...I wonder why?

I believe it's because they have to be hand metered, they don't fit through the standard machine.

It's $0.20 extra to mail a square envelope.

Any piece of mail that doesn't fall into a certain range of ratios costs more. In the case of square letters, yes, it's because it has to be processed by hand - addresses are supposed to be written parallel to the longer edge of a mail piece, and with a square envelope the machines can't determine which edge that should be.
