acu2h and I finished my halloween blocks but I didn't use my cricut. Have a couple other things I still need to do and I will be using the cricut. Has anyone done glass etching with the cricut????

I do a fair amount of glass etching with my cricut! Makes great wedding/shower gifts! Did you have a question?

I do....did you use the vinyl for your stencil? I also have been wanting to try glass etching.

Here is my first layout for October. The font is cut from Type Candy (a fav of mine) and the medallion for the title was cut from Lacy Labels.

Got one done today! Used gypsy wanderings for the diamond shapes and cindy loo for the frame behind the flower.

Yes, I use vinyl for the stencil. You can find it on ebay fairly cheap -look for sign vinyl instead of cricut vinyl, it's MUCH cheaper!
I think it is a good investment- the vinyl isn't bad and will last a long time as will the etching cream. When you use the etching cream (I used a coupon at M's), you can scrap the excess off and put it back in the jar and re-use it so it lasts a long time. I have used it to do 9x13 baking dishes (there is a great pictue on my blog, which I am ashamed to admit I haven't put anything on for at least a year :o) Makes great wedding/shower gifts! I have also done mirrors and candy jars. I coach voleyball and like to give the girls something at the end of the season so I etch their name and year and a volleyball.
It is really easy and looks great! Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks Di,
But it was a struggle, many times on and off with those darn things and in the end, it wasn't what I was looking for. I wanted it to be more sporadic, nonchalant?
I have one in my gallery that I am happy with, but it was a lift!!

Trish, I was surprised at how easy those diamonds came together! After reading everyones problems with the hexagons, I thought for sure I'd have the same trouble. That pic was just screaming for more diamonds so I just had to try it.

Thank you By Tinadn

I made 20 of these. Used George to cut out the squares and Doodlecharms for the pumpkins.

I lost my place so will find it and catch up on love later.

Here is a simple layout I did last night. I wanted to showcase the photo simply. The font is from cartridge Song Bird. I scraplifted from J-M for a challenge.
