Welcome to the all-new Hoarder's Challenge

The Scrappy Supplies Hoarder, you know who you are! (And, be honest, we're all guilty of it at one time or another!) Do you have one or two (or more!) coveted papers or paper lines that you just can't cut into?! How about a pad of papers you haven't touched, but had to have? Do you have a special package of embellies you simply refuse to use? Well this challenge is for you! Your challenge is to step up, admit to your hoarded supplies and USE them!

Here's what to do to enter:
1. List at least one supply item (paper or embellishment) that you've hoarded unused or uncut for at least six months or more.
2. Bite the bullet and create a page, card or project with it.
3. Post it here for us to all cheer you and clap you on the back!

Note: This is a fun challenge and not meant for competition - just challenging us to use those most coveted treasures we've held onto and get a little love in the process! Feel free to enter at any time this month and as often as you like! And as you use your stash, feel free to add more and challenge yourself again! We all spend our hard-earned money on fun goodies, it's time we used them!

Now, who's in?!

I think I'd like to give this a try.
Stash I've been afraid to cut into include:
1. EP Victoria Garden
2. EP Essentials Upscale
3. MME Vanity Fair
4. BG Basic White
5. BG Eskimo Kisses

If I could manage to cut into even one of these, I would consider myself very accomplished...

Okay- I must get in on this because I've been challenging myself to use on my CTMH papers that are 1-2 years old now- a couple I've hid in the back so as not to use them. It's time to pull them out...

I want to use some stamps I have never used but not sure which ones lol and then we'll worry about papers

This sounds like it could be fun. I would like 2 play along. Heard some ladies mentioning this challenge last month on the MSC Anniversary thread that I hosted & thought my hubby would say that this is a challenge for me, lol! There is just sooooo much I have that I have yet to use that I don't really know what to choose...lol, wasn't trying to rhyme on purpose there.
Maybe I'll try some stamps like Tammy mentioned. I did sign up to do a Christmas card challenge & I have this one pack of holiday stamps I picked up on clearance a couple years ago that is still un-opened. Would that count?

I have decided on 3 paper lines that are very old.

K and Co. Roam papers and stickers
K and Co. Urban papers and stickers
K and Co. Wild raspberry papers and stickers

I am a bit of a K and Co., My Mind's Eye, and Bo Bunny addict. I figure that I will take 1 brand each month to attack. Then maybe a little by little I will start using these papers that I just loved and had to have along with everything that coordinated with them. LOL

Ok, so I just finished a LO on which I ended up using the leftovers from a pkg. of vellum tag stickers that have been in my stash since, get this.....2003.....would that count? They were leftover from a gift album I'd made over 9 years ago & I'd forgotten I even still had them! Thanks 2 this challenge I was going through old stash items just to see if I had anything that would work on a current LO and ended up finding them.
I also used a couple accent/journaling stickers on the same LO that I've had in my stash for about a year.

Items Used: Sticko Vellum Tag stickers; Kelly Panacci accent stickers

Hunger Games LO By Jamariel

What a fun challenge! I am proud to announce I FINALLY used my Mrs. Grossman's Laser cut Noel Stickers. I bought these back in 2007

I am not totally thrilled with the end product, but I am PROUD of myself for FINALLY using them and getting them OUT of my hoard and OUT of my home.

Thanks for the great challenge!!!!

I hope I can enter this challenge. As soon as I saw the words "Hoarders Challenge" I said to myself I can relate to this. I like to make cards and I have so much of the 8 1/2 x 11 Michaels Recollections brand name cardstock. It's cheaper than buying a card making kit, and I get more colours to choose from when making a card.

By the way, I am from Toronto, Ontario Canada. Here in Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving at the beginning of October. Sun Oct 7 is Thanksgiving, and Mon Oct 8 is the holiday.

This is one of four cards I made for Thanksgiving this weekend.

Yay! I used MORE stuff. This card was made for my grandson's first Halloween. Hope he likes it! [image][/image]

Items used were:
My Mind's Eye Where the Heart is paper pack
Debbie Mum Bat Buttons
Monster definition sticker, but don't remember who its by.
Brads, button and ribbon that I haven't touched in forever.
I think the Monster I cut on the cricut should count too, because I have had the wild card cartridge for at least 5 years and I've never cut that monster out.

My hoarded staple is the tiny letter stickers I used 4 the title. They are the 1st ever alpha's I bought back in 2001-02 & I still have them for some reason. I have used them before, but still have lots leftover. Also the Sassafras Lass Monstrosity PP I used is at least 2 years old. Thanks again 4 looking & all the inspiration you've given me to use up my old stuff!! : )

Hey, I've been wondering...if I make a card w/a hoarded item(s) would that count too or does it have to be a LO??

Okay, I did it. I completed a Hoarders Layout.
1. Basic Grey Blush paper pack
The majority of my layout is composed of products from 6 months to @least a year old. Maybe even older, especially the Thickers (2)white Subway stickers. I have a list on my page. Check it out and thanks for looking.

I'm going to give this a try. I have some TPC Studio papers from the "Rustic Garden Sunflower" line...that's what it says on it, anyway. I've had these forever and I think I haven't used them mostly just because I really like them. I guess I just kept thinking there might be something "better" to use them on..however, I'm in a very "Fall" kind of mood today, with my view out my scrap window being the changing colors of the leaves on the trees...so pretty! So I'm breaking out some fall themed pics and cutting into these papers!

I keep forgetting to tell first what I planned to use. This time when I knew I was going to do a lo with pix from the B&B we stayed in I thought of the Chatterbox pps I have been saving for a special project - the special project was this month's gallery inspiration challenge to lift a lo I have been wanting to do for a long time.

So with all that said here is my lo:

I know this is off topic, but since the group name has the word "Hoarders" in the title, how many actually watch the tv show "Hoarders"? I have watched the episodes. Some of those houses are disgusting.

So I realized today that, yes, I actually am hosting a challenge this month... OOPS!! So I'm waaay behind on the front.. I'm SO sorry everyone! I loooove all your works and am just a little behind (having just returned to work from maternity leave). I should have some time in the next couple days during lunch break to get caught up and update the front. Kudos to all of you for biting the bullet and using your hoarded stash!!
I added to mine at the Expo last weekend, but fully intent to dip into it this weekend as I have a crop! Keep it up you guys!!!

I know this is off topic, but since the group name has the word "Hoarders" in the title, how many actually watch the tv show "Hoarders"? I have watched the episodes. Some of those houses are disgusting.

My scraproom is disgusting.

Not QUITE as bad as the show, but not far removed either. I could open my own store.

Let me just say, it's a guilty pleasure of mine, watching the hoarder's shows I mean. My hubby can't stand that I watch them so I try to watch when he's asleep or at work. I don't know what it is, because I am far from being like any of those people when it comes to my home & its condition. I mean I do have a little clutter lying around, but nothing like on the scale of any of the stories I've seen on those shows. I guess I just like hearing their stories & seeing them face their demons and work at fighting their way back to having a 'normal' home where they can do normal things, like actually sleep in their own beds & cook in their own kitchens, etc.

NOt sure I understand my fascination w/it, but I am a fan of the Hoarders show.

I watched the show a couple times while still in Canada but it made me sad...I don't actually watch much TV here at all especially now that I am working. Too much to discover!

Two to drop off using the same Bo Bunny Block Party collection as my last. I have made a serious dent in it

As for Hoarders, I have watched it some and I am just in awe of how it can get that bad. I know I am type A and any clutter kills me, but i just can't imagine letting it get to that point. I would be in the loony bin.

Hello ladies, I have one that I completed with hoarded items

The background ppr is Heidi Swapp, the large letters are Making Memories Jigsaw, the smaller letters are Glitz designs pink woodgrain, the rub ons are BG Hopscotch, the zig zag shapes were made using EK Zig Zag punch. Those items were never used, I've had them for a while.

I have watched one episode and that was all I could handle. My house is far from perfect. I have piles of clutter here and there, but wow!

Sonja I hope you run this forever! I am having so much fun and feeling good about using my supplies too..
Here is another one that started with my wanting to use some Stella Ruby... and progressed to using chipboard that I have had forever and even got me to use some tools that I forget to take out (in this case the misting screen for the butterfly).

I agree, I've been digging to the bottom of my stash just so I can use up something old!

I watch hoarders on hulu. I don't remember how or when I stumbled across it. I think I started watching it when I ran out of my regular shows. It has motivated me to be on top of the piles, though my scrap room is a mess!

I still haven't attacked the SEI pack, but I'm working on my big Scrapbook freebie pile of Carta Bella merry and bright tag paper. I think I have 2 packs of it and I want to use as much of it as I can before it gets into the hoard!

Started to catch up... left off at Kimberly's first entry on page 1... Oy, I'm WAY behind!

I think for next month we're going to have to start taking a page outta the Budget challenge book and have us keep track of all our own hoarded supplies. Does that sound okay to you all?

Will get cu soon!

works for me - it really opens your eyes doesn't it when you keep track yourself.

ACU! So many cool things done with old supplies! Now I'm thinking about ghost shapes I have, mailbox letters I have, things I bought from QVC about 10 years ago!! I need to hit the scraproom and dig out all those 'trendy' things I bought and didn't use up!

In the budget challenge thread - everyone now is responsible for updating their own spending and subtracting from their total to see what they have left. It makes it more of an informed spending decision if they bust or not.

well just some things from your stash you want to use and then subtract them by stroking them off the list when you use them I guess.

Here are two layouts I've completed! I have gotten a lot done...for me at least this month.

[image] Little Mermaid By Mojosmaddy[/image]

The papers aren't that old, but I've still had them for 3 months.

The ribbon and bling I've had in my stash forever!

[image] Pumpkin Patch By Mojosmaddy[/image]

For this LO I used misc. scrap paper and ribbon. The tag was created by my friend Shaylacreations about 3 yrs ago and I'm FINALLY getting around to using it.
