Wow! You really have been to "hell" and come back with trying to get to see the right doctors. I hope you get your "wish" before the year is over! Not a good thing to be in such pain during the holiday season!

Tell me about it, and I just got a nice ER bill for the Dec. visit, didn't get one for the November one. I am going to call them Monday and fill out the back to see if I can get it wrote off, because of my income level. I hope I qualify.

Hi Everyone, We have been hit with snow, snow, and more snow. More on the way too. Not a bad thing unless we are not prepared(like right now). Finances this month have been not good so we are almost out of fuel for the snow blower and not even halfway to the plowed road yet(it's just over 1/4 mile). So we have been shoveling as much as we can and my back is spazzing out. But if we can get the drive way done we can get to town and get more fuel. They said we would get like 7 inches and we got 2 feet or so! I do love snow but not with lack of fuel for the snow blower I have been having insulin reactions all over the place too, even tho I adjusted my insulin and have been taking very little to compensate for all the physical activity. So I am sad and worried and just a little freaked out but I have to believe we will get thru this!
We have a Golden Retriever who is very tall and she is more than up to her belly! All the other dogs are smaller so some of them get lost in the snow for a few minutes, we keep a close eye when they are out tho. The snow has a crust on it now, so some dogs can walk on the top with no trouble, but not us people. It all looks so fantastic!! I do LOVE the snow

Janet I have faith u will get through it, just stinks that you have to do it by hand right now. Bet that is a pic worth taking of the lil ones standing on the tall snow and the other belly deep in the snow..lol.

Thank You, I know we will too! I have been taking more pics than some people appreciate , specifically My Guy! I mean how can I allow a perfect pic to go by? He says "what the H are you doing??? You need to get busy or we will never get out of here " But if I laugh when he says that I am 'creating problems', so I start singing "Walking In A Winter Wonderland"...that is my escape song!!

I am still waiting on the specialist, they did check the online file I filled out yesterday but it still says the same thing. I am going to call them Friday and ask what the hold up is? Is it the insurance thing or what. I need to go back to the state and see if I qualify. I am getting ready to possibly file for the disability if I have to, atleast temporarily. I don't want to, but this just stinks. Holding out and hope that when I fill out a few more applications for some sit down jobs that i can get a call back or an email to set up an interview.

Awesome news is that I finally got an appt for an MRI on the 2nd of Jan and then seeing the specialist on the 15th of Jan. Finally things are happening to see what they can do for my sciatica issue and my discs.

I will keep all updated. We have snow galore this week. Thankfully I know how to drive in this stuff...although I hate playing in the snow in the car...too many people that don't know how to drive out there.

Hi Ladies, Happy New Year! I stayed up and watched the TV program where they have all these singers and performers and show all the different countries and the fireworks the light off! ( Used to be the one ******** Clark Hosted) I LOVE to watch fireworks! We didn't do much of anything other than that. But I did not care much for the 'new' hosts of the program. They were too animated for me, but I was watching for the fireworks any how!

You're Welcome Babigirl, happy for you things got handled

TJ, that is awesome you are getting appointments going and hopefully can get some relief!! I hope all goes well at your appointments

We finally got our driveway cleared of snow and were able to go fetch groceries...except the ones I forgot because the Man was rushing me(eggs, flour and butter). But he has his oreo's so is pacified for a while. He eats them for dinner then wonders why he does not lose weight! Silly me I try to feed him broccoli and wheat bread but he gobbles the oreos until they are gone. Yup, Big Children some guys are! Still Love him anyway tho! He buys the cookies but I did find a couple recipes to make his own oreos too, so he will have more in the freezer if he can allow then to defrost.
My back is having more troubles, like spasms. I can't do anything about it so far. Tried ice, various meds, mineral ice, some new stuff I got which helps my hands-Perform pain relieving gel. So far nothing helps. If I don't do anything, that helps but I HAVE to do things, so that really won't work. Certain things like bringing in wood for the stove is mandatory, that's the only heat we have and the temps have been in the teens and 20's for the last week or so. Our snow is all still here of course, 4-5 feet or so. Shoveling that was a major pain in the back. I totally get what you say about other drivers TJ, around here they seem to be just naturally dangerous on the road. Put some snow on the road and everybody thinks they are the 'best' driver no matter what they have been drinking or smoking. I do not drive after dark due to night blindness issues, so that helps avoid some of the problems. Plus lessens the likelihood of hitting a deer or moose! I love it out here but sometimes it's like I am in a movie where almost nobody has any common sense, makes unsafe lane changes and runs red lights and stop signs...the list goes on. My Guy calls them 'clampits' which I find very appropriate as well as hilarious. I am the person people flip the bird at as they speed around me, I just don't go too fast if the weather tells me otherwise. I follow the speed limit as much as possible.

Guess I am in a rambling mood here, I didn't realize I was going on for so long

MRI went well and whole appt took about an hour. I finally got insurance too, I got insurance through the hospital. I have it until Mid-May. Awesome deal.

I can't wait to hear the results, but they did aggravate it today when they put me in the MRI machine, they elevated my legs with a cushion, and it made my bumm go numb and my leg throb all day..knee is still really swollen and sore as can be. I have to work lunch tomorrow too.

Happy to get things going with this, even if I am in pain right now.

Okay off to bed, I am exhausted and need some sleep.

I am still here. Sorry to hear TJ about the MRI making you worse today. But yeah on Insurance. Neck had been doing great since the fusion but last week it has been hurting. I am having alot of headaches migraine and tension. Part may be my depression it has gotten worse. I am scheduling an apt with psychiatrist to look at my meds and see if they need changes. I have no desire to do anything work or scrap. I used to love my job evan on bad days lately I dont like it.

Hi TJ, Happy for you the MRI is finished and you will have more info to know what is going on! I think often Drs think everybody is being dishonest about their pain to get drugs, around here that is how we are treated any how. It makes me so mad, but apparently there are many druggies where I live. If I could not take any pills at a;; I would be happy. But when the pain is preventing me from walking or whatever I have to do that day, it's a problem.

Heather I hope you get meds changed to have you doing better!! Depression is not something to be ignored. So sending Happy Thoughts for All who need some!!

Yeah I have to see if my DR takes the insurance...but if not, then I will go to one that does for awhile...saves me money that i don't have to spend anyways. Money is tight.

I hear that!! $ being tight is an understatement! If I didn't have insurance I could not afford important things like Insulin which one of them is over $100 a month!! If your insurance is accepted you might call the insurance office and see if anything can be retroactive and cover like Dr appts or prescriptions that you had since the actual date the insurance took effect. They let me do that before so thought I would mention it. Did you hear anything about the MRI yet?
I had today 'off' from yard snow junk and made some Banana Bread because I have a bunch of them in the freezer. It was so much fun and I love treats like that Plus baking is always a blast

I also made my own 'Hamburger Helper' recipe that turned out so yummy also! I love doing cooking and baking so much and it takes my mind off other junk too. Yay Me, Successful Day in the kitchen!!

Cheesy Beef Taco: Using
1 pound ground beef
2 1/4 cups hot water
1/2 cup milk
1 cup pasta
1 cup stewed or diced canned tomatoes( I used a can of black beans)
prepare a sauce packet including
1 tablespoon corn starch
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon chives(dried)-if you have fresh use 1 teaspoon
Stir in 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded, near the end, then top with another 1/2 cup cheddar plus 1 cup of Fritos during the 5-minute standing period.
**I got this recipe on line but changed a few things and used hotter ingredients because cayenne pepper helps with many health issues and I love the taste! You can really add anything you want or have like mushrooms or green peppers. Plus we did not do the chips. There are so many easy recipes like this that have no added preservatives and junk in them.

Today my back is doing OK so I am a much happier camper. Amazing how not working the #&%! outta myself can help my pain level Has been so dang COLD tho, single digits at night and I am not happy freezing as I try to sleep. I wake up multiple times a night so cold and am NOT liking it. We only have wood heat but this past Summer were not able to get stocked on good wood very well. The wood we have is mostly Pine and does not burn hot enough or long enough to warm up the house, hence the coldness. But wearing double socks helps We always get thru Winter. I am just wanting to be warmer so my hands can move better.

And to see what they want to do. I also need to find a doctor that takes the hospital insurance..I need my meds and have been out of some of them for a few weeks.
