Hi TJ! If I were you I would ask the hospital about which Drs take the insurance, if the insurance comes from the hospital. Let them know if you want a specialist or an MD and then with info they give you(hopefully) you start calling the Drs on the list, to verify they take it. I usually ask if they have a free intro office visit, to see if that Dr clicks(or Not) with you. Not alot worse to me than to be seeing a Dr who I can't stand or who does not listen. If they have the freebie visit, you can ask questions like "do you treat other people with (your condition)?, I ask stuff like "Do you see patients at the hospital in addition to your office?"--this may give you opportunity to save $ on fuel if they work in both places and one is closer for you. If they are an older Dr I ask if they have a plan for when they will retire- may not want to see a dr who will be retiring in 2 years. I also ask the appointment person how far out is average to get in to see the Dr.
Best of Luck with what you learn!

Wish I could have went to my appointment, my car gave me issues today and I had to reschedule.

But I am calling to see what doctors I can go see today for a family doctor. My new appt isn't until next month, unless there is a cancellation. I am so upset.

Good luck. I was sick for two weeks after my last chemo treatment, sinus infection, stomach virus, severly dehydrated and potassium levels extremely low ( normal is 6.5, mine 2.5), IV treatments with potassium and now taking potassium pills.

I was able to get to my old doctor to get my meds. They gave me my monthly supply. Krogers even was able to get me good deals on my meds, they were less then they were the last time I paid for them.

Bad thing is that I have had my sciatica acting up and been in pain since Thursday. I could barely walk Thursday, but I did manage to work for a few hours. I worked last night, but had to take more pain meds then I am suppose to. Bad thing is, I still felt the pain. I had my knee brace on and a wrist brace on. My hip was giving me issues too.
I can't wait to see the specialist, I talked to them and told them to call me for any of the nuerosurgeons that were there. I didn't care who I seen as long as I was able to see one.

I am so sick of feeling like I am 60 or 70 years old. I hate this feeling. I am so use to being able to run around and move fast, not move like a darn snail.

Bay: I hope u are feeling better now..that sucks that u felt so crappy for so long after the treatments.

TJ glad you got meds. This week was rough for me. my arthritis has been bad. The weather dropped and is damp so I can hardly walk when I get up and my hands dont want to work. I agree about feeling like a 70 year old it sucks. A year ago I was so much better. The arthritis just came o quickly and it does not stop.

I hope the pains ease for my friends here. I agree with the feeling old statement too, but I am older than you girls I think so some of mine is just age catching up with me. I went for so long with no pains and doing so well and after I turned 40 all this junk started on me, that was over 10 years ago. The rumor is that for arthritis a person is supposed to do stuff anyway, like walking, and that is supposed to help ease the pain... disagree When I go walking or even carry something that is 5 pounds, I have worse back, leg and shoulder pain. But I know I need to exercise. Plus I HAVE to carry groceries or fetch wood for heat and things like that so I just do it anyway and regret it later

I have to say, talking on here with people about everything from scrapping to recipes helps take my mind off health junk. A bit of a 'who cares because I have people to talk to about stuff with' attitude. I do very much enjoy visiting with most people here. Thank You for starting this thread TJ

mine started right before my 39th birthday. I thought I had years before arthritis set in. I knew I had it in my spine but my joint kill me. Some days I cant move my hands let aloe walk from my knee. Fibromyalgia on top of it was another surprise. Not being able to sleep cause the bed and blankets hurt me. The Lyrica helped that but not arthritis. They are try different drugs to get it under control. I had neck fusion that messed helped. I am rambling. The start of a migraine woke me.

Heather, I feel you hun. This week has sucked for me too. The aching and pain is a bite in the butt. I am having to build up the nerve pain meds again, they were one that ran out and they take a minute to build up in the system. I have worked past three days and I have been in so much pain that it wasn't even funny. I was grouchy and irratible at work, I hate that.
The only part of me that didn't hurt was my head, my stomach and left side of back and my right arm.
My hands, but the left one was worse, wore brace past two days on hand. I had braces on both knees, both knees are burning and hurt. My feet hurt, my right side of back hurts, and I keep swelling as well. Can I get a break and feel my age again and not so much older..lol.

Heather you are allowed to ramble and sorry about the headache/migraine those suck booty.

LOL, I did not go to sleep yet Heather! But after a bad insulin reaction in the night I slept till 3 PM today. Sleeping has been difficult and then the dogs will go off and wake me up sometimes too. I get an extra 'heater' tonight with Molly, our Golden Retriever sleeping on my bed. That will help me not to freeze so much. Temps have been below freezing in the teens and 20's for over a week and will continue till the end of this coming week too after that I don't know, but it is still Winter. I would not mind the cold so much if the house were a little warmer. All we have is a wood stove to heat the whole place, and wood is so dang expensive we could not afford to stock up as much as we would have liked. I do love the snow, just don't like being cold, I want to be comfortable and have snow too I know, how weird am I???

Well maybe I will try to go to sleep now. I had to stay up because I made a big pot of soup for dinner-Chicken with vegies and barley. The pot is so big, I think 3 or 4 gallons, I should measure so I know but it had to cool off before I could put in the fridge or freezer. So that is done, dishes are washed and now I am tired, I think I am anyway. I hope you can get back to sleep Heather Talk with you later!

This cold weather can go somewhere, my arthritis is feeling it full force. My knees are the worse, then the ache in the hands and then my back. I do a good one last night, was chasing the cat downstairs because he has gotten sick and I didn't want him getting sick down there. Well he made it hard on me kept hiding inbetween stuff. Then he came out and I tried to grab him real fast, and he darted. Well I missed almost and fall straight on my left knee with all my weight and fall into the craft chairs. Needless to say it hurt and I had to ice both knees.LOL.

I hope you knee is feeling better TJ.

Nobody in my family has had arthritis before and I have been told I am being a baby. I hate that so much, a different person does not have a right to tell me something does or does not hurt!! Some people! They need a chance to feel the pain themselves before they can say things like that! It's not like any normal person wishes to have pain.
It just makes me not want to talk to them!

I did have a morning a few days ago and woke up with no pain!! I know very shocking and pleasant besides! But it was all back later that morning...at least I had a good wake up that time My back wakes me up so often with the pain and I hate it. Lack of sleep is never good, but it seems a part of life for me way too often. Makes me happy to make a cup of good tea and drink it as I think of better things like baking. Cooking is an escape for me, helps my mind stay in better thoughts. And then is the sample with the cup of tea, that can usually make me forget everything as I decide if I made it right!! I have been known to either burn what I'm making, or miss an ingredient by accident and it is known with the taste test. But whatever keeps a mind off of health stuff sometimes is the best thing.

I read an article yesterday that said worry can make you sick because it breaks down your body's ability to protect it self from germs and other junk, which in turn makes you more likely to catch that germ or not heal efficiently! I used to be a huge worrier, but have been trying for the last few months to let stuff go. If I am late to an appointment because the light turns red, oh well. I mean I leave on time for stuff, but used to worry about being late. Not any more as long as I leave with plenty of time to get there, there is nothing to worry about. Yes it works for stuff like that, but worries about what a test will say or if I can get an appointment and all the medical stuff is more difficult. So I am working on that kind of worry still, but use crafting and scrapping as my working distraction!

Well either everyone is doing awesome or were all feeling icky???

Mine I have good and bad days. Update: I have physical therapy for my knee and back, they are trying to relieve my pain and sciatica issue. It isn't my back that is causing the issue, they are doing a EMG on me mid April to check out my leg. I am being assigned a new Ortho as well, one that takes my insurance through the hospital, so I can get injections. The EMG is to see where it is in my leg that is causing the sciatica to act up, I believe it is the back right thigh, started noticing when it would both me. I have taken a week off work to relax and recoup. I haven't had a break from work since the knee surgery last Feb, and that wasn't a fun time off.

The Neurologist told me that it could be just my leg, but that it could be the beginning of Lupus, Diabetes and/or something else. I think I would have preferred it been my spine, at least then I would know why and how it happened. I am keeping positive and know that this can be fixed or managed.
I have my family and my new guy standing by me to help and be there. I just hate that I can do what I use to..feel old...ugh.

Sorry about your leg. Hopefully is nothing but a temporary issue. Don't let the "It could be..." getting in your mind! Keep a positive attitude.

I am, but it has been doing this for over a year now, and has just grown worse..but I am keeping positive that it can be fixed or the pain reduced by exercise and meds.

I'm sorry you're struggling TJ.

My Mum is a lot better, and so is my brother, although he won't admit it. Men. Pfft.
