Hi TJ! If I were you I would ask the hospital about which Drs take the insurance, if the insurance comes from the hospital. Let them know if you want a specialist or an MD and then with info they give you(hopefully) you start calling the Drs on the list, to verify they take it. I usually ask if they have a free intro office visit, to see if that Dr clicks(or Not) with you. Not alot worse to me than to be seeing a Dr who I can't stand or who does not listen. If they have the freebie visit, you can ask questions like "do you treat other people with (your condition)?, I ask stuff like "Do you see patients at the hospital in addition to your office?"--this may give you opportunity to save $ on fuel if they work in both places and one is closer for you. If they are an older Dr I ask if they have a plan for when they will retire- may not want to see a dr who will be retiring in 2 years. I also ask the appointment person how far out is average to get in to see the Dr.
Best of Luck with what you learn!
