Question for everyone... what is your favorite office supplies item that you have re-purposed for your scrapbooking ventures? Stuff that I could find in a office supply store rather than ACM, M's, etc...

Thanks!

>White sticky labels
and
Post-its are great for journaling spots

>Staples are great for attaching items and or as an embellishment

>Paperclips are another cute embellishment since they come in all kinds of colors and patterns now

That's all I can think of of the top of my head

There are these great metal-rimmed round tags, in boxes of 50, intended as key rings (to keep keys labeled in an office environment), but I have used them all over the place in scrapbooking. A 1" circle punch fits almost perfectly inside the metal rim.

well considering staples has a line of Martha Stewart home office supplies, they have quite a number of items in various colors that can be used :).
there are quite a number of organizing supplies - I like my a5 album cataloging stamps and tapes. Considering getting a business card or index card storage box and making a catalog of the punches.
transparencies are awesome for the mini albums
pens for sure - lots of nice ones there

Staples, paper clip, adhesive tape, rulers, envelopes, and I'm sure that there's more, I just can't remember.

Binder rings, Scotch tape, and a really cool long-arm stapler that reaches all over my 12x12 layouts.

I love various pads of paper like reciept books, graphing vellum and such.

I have a bigger pushy pin/thumb tack I use for making holes for brads. A gum eraser is great for removing extra "sticky" from the xyron or roller glue.

oh I forgot the label printer! mostly labeling kids clothes and items, but sometimes I plug in the paper label and type journaling on it) I've been wanting to buy color tapes, but the list of colors for my printer is somewhat limited. I would really really really love the white text on black strip..

Keep in mind, many office-supply staples and paperclips RUST!

I've been destroying old office files, and find a LOT of rusty spots.

Not something I want in my scrapbooks.

Interesting and very true. I recently went through old tax files and some of the clips were rusty and the paper was so brittle and yellow you couldn't tell what was on some of the pages!

What's weird is some are very rusty and others not at all.

Obviously there is some difference, but I don't know what it is.

I've seen some paper clips covered in a plasticy resin or something - does the same rusty fate happen to them too?

I haven't run across any of those in our old files. Those shouldn't rust, because there is really no metal exposed.

I have seen some where the ends of the metal are rusty and the clip was rusty inside the plastic but that is the really older ones. They may be making them of something different now. Those were ancient.
