Hey all,

I am new to scrapbooking but have always been crafty. I make my daughter all her bows but recently I saw someone on youtube using the Cuttlebug and I want one but is it a good choice. Also should I get a new one or a slightly used one from eBay. Any thoughts thanks for your suggestions!

The cuttlebug is a great machine. A lot of people either get a cuttlebug or a big shot. I have both and use my big shot more.

Another huge Cuttlebug fan here. I can honestly say I use it on practically every project. Get it! Get it!

I have a cuddle bug from HSN for embossing. Love it but what do I need to add for using for die cuts?

You need an "A" plate for die cutting thin dies.

The A plate is the thick, translucent one that every bug comes with, the base plate. I think dotfree means that you need a C plate for cutting thin dies which are not made by Provocraft.

Your correct I did mean the "C" plate. I should have looked at them before I wrote. I used it also for cutting the Spellbinder dies.

I'd go with the Big Shot, because the Cuttlebug doesn't work on all dies.

You can remember the plates this way...
C for cutting
B for emBossing.
My bug came with A,B,C. I think the newer ones don't have all 3 in the starter set. LOVE mine. I use Spellbinders dies in it. I have a Slice and a Cricut, too. The machine I use most is the Cuttlebug. I have even taken it to the elementary school I teach at. It holds up well to a bunch of 8 year olds.

Oh... with the cost of shipping on ebay...my opinion would be to order a new one. You can PM me is you have questions.
