I use the 3 ring binder type albums and I don't fill them to overflowing. I think that makes a difference.
A certain amount of "squishing" can't be prevented, I think. I just don't fill my albums too full and hope for the best!
I do a lot of 3D type pages and they hold up pretty well.....
I have one page that I didn't think about before I started adding flowers. They are very close to the bottom corner of the page and pretty thick, so the page doesn't actually "fit" down into the page protector. Poor planning on my part. I cut a hole just where the flowers are so that they can come through. For some reason, they don't get smashed even when I lay my book down flat- they are sturdy enough flowers. I don't like having to cut the page protector but in this case there was really no other choice.
