I've used them as gift tags, glued them to the front of a blank card, hung them on my wall to remember a specific technique, or give them to my boss who goes crazy over them and thinks they're amazing works of art (ha).
That's why I don't make tags. I used to make them for presents but no one bothered to look at them. I think they just forgot they were even there. I don't look for pretty tags either though.
BTW, I love the word fripperies!!
I've only started playing with tags. They're a great way to play with new techniques and/or supplies on a smaller canvas. I plan to use mine on scrapbook pages, as gift tags for those who I know will appreciate the work, and also I'm going to put a bunch together and give them to local groups/charities for their craft sales and small auctions
Remembered this thread on Friday at the Scrapbook Expo. Tim Holtz was there doing demos at a booth. Someone asked him. He said they make quick and easy cards. He has tags predone hanging, then you pull one off, add your greeting stamp and then put the tag on the card. Thought was interesting to hear a pro weigh in.
