She's beautiful in these-of course she's beautiful in everything, but she's also got a lot of the best lines. The Thin Man movies are sort of mystery comedies. With lots of drinking. Don't know if I mentioned that, but if these folks wake up in the middle of the night to talk, they pour a drink; they're always having parties or going to parties; they have a drink with/for breakfast and it's pretty funny. I love the clothes and the hats. Not keen at all on the fur, but I just love movies from the '30's and 40's. Mainly the mystery/detective ones.
No, Jarvae. I didn't post the card. I was waiting until you got it and then I haven't had time.
Thanks for the well wishes. My mom just called and said he absolutely refused to go anywhere tonight. He might go tomorrow to Norman...we shall see. They're supposed to get freezing rain tomorrow, so I kind of figure he will back out then. Thanks, Darla, for your sweet offer!
My all time favorite movie in the whole entire world from any era any time any place on my deathbed I want to be watching this movie, is "Imitation of Life", the 50s version. They made one in the 30s with Claudette Colbert, another of my favorite actresses, but I prefer the 50s version with Lana Turner and Sandra Dee.
All I find when I clean house is more stuff that needs cleaning! LOL! Though I'm sure when we can start using the garage and the storage above it, and start sorting and going through stuff, it'll be Christmas on steroids.
So sorry, Terri. Fingers crossed you get over whatever it is quick. And Stephanie too-she's got a bad headache.
I haven't seen that movie, Darla, but I just looked it up on imdb. Lana Turner-another stunner.
