We have a very fiscally cautious district. We have been on a pay freeze for five years. We don't get days to have professional development. Because of these things, we haven't had to have furlough days.
We just got back our 5 furlough days that we've had for the past 4 or 5 years. We have 2 preservice contract days and the day after the kids leave we have to be there. We've had our pay frozen for 5-6 years as well.
When insurance goes up $100/ mo EVERY SINGLE YEAR (now paying almost $1000/
mo ON TOP of my district contribution of $800/mo) my pay has continually gone DOWN. This year, with the return of the days, I'm maintaining last years pay.
