So, I see this stuff is used with special chipboards, etc. Is this something I can use stand alone to just give some basic color to papers, etc? Thanks!

I've only used the product twice. It gives a decent amount of color. However, chipboard really soaks up product. You might want to spray it with a base color first.

Paint your chip board or cork with white acrylic paint first and then you will get good coverage.

Yep that is what Kelly does. She uses Krylon spray paint. I use paint daubers.

I've used it with paper, and it gives a lovely airbrushed effect with an iridescent finish. I haven't used it with chipboard or cork.
