If you're having trouble loggin in, or making a post (or any other sort of odd behavior in general)...it's probably a "cookie related issue".

The first thing to check is that you computer's date and time is relatively accurate. If the date or time is way off, the cookies may be expiring...thus causing you problems.

If that does not, then check the following information, and follow the instructions to Manually delete your cookies.

First things first, make sure that your browser's security settings allow cookies to be accepted from our site. The site doesn't work if your browser does not accept cookies. You also must make sure that your browser isn't using cached pages (stored on your hard drive). See the Browser Problems FAQ for more info on Cashed Pages and Proxy Servers. Also verify that your Internet Security settings are allowing information from this site.

If your browser is set to accept cookies, then perhaps corrupt cookies need to be deleted.
The system uses "cookies" on your system to keep track of what messages are new to you, what message you're looking at, what's the next message, etc.... Sometimes, these cookies get "glitched". So while our system is working fine, things are being interpreted incorrectly on your end. So if things seem off, a good fix to most problems is to:
- Click the "Logout" button at the top. (If you were logged in)
- Delete the cookies from "www.ThisSite.com". (See various Instructions below)
- Close your browser's window
- Re-launch your browser
- Visit our home page (this first time back without cookies, re-enter through our home page and not a bookmark you've got saved.)
- Log back in.
That will solve most problems with the system.

****SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR DELETING COOKIES****

Internet Explorer 6 - Windows 98:
- In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- On the General tab, click Settings, and then click View files.

- Look under C:\Documents and Settings\your user name*\cookies

Hi, Bonnie!

Are you on a dial-up connection, or a high speed one?

It sounds to me like your file size is too large. The gallery only supports images below 350k. Generally, there will be an error that will be displayed - but, in cases where you're on a slower connection, or where the file is exceptionally large, it may time out before showing you the error.

Please check the size of your files, and let us know if the problem continues.

I recently purchased a new camera. Now when i take my photos and try to upload them, it tellls me that my file is too big? I could easily upload photos from my old camera. Is there anything i can do to reduce the file size of my pictures?

You'll need to use the graphics software that came with your camera to reduce the size of the files - look in the help file under Resize.

If you post the name of the program, perhaps someone will have more specific directions for you!

I have tremendous problems to stay logged in. This problem started 3 days ago and it is becoming worse and worse. I have done everything you suggested: logged in , expired my cookies, refreshed etc... numerous times. I am a user of this website since 2003. It is becoming really annoying to stay on this webpage. I am only recognised on my own profile page. As soon as I move to the galleries, I am logged out again. Furthermore, my own uploads are not always visible on my owm gallery. I can't retrieve messages posted to my layouts. I get the e mails to notify me about the messages, but I can't read it!!! The gallery page also got stuck on April 18 2005. Please help!!!!

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but here goes anyway! Why is it that the los in my gallery change order even when I don't add or take anything away? Some of the pages won't make sense if viewed out of order!

Good Morning! Ok! For example; I posted 2 pages, the first one is titled Count Your Blessings and the second one is Name Them One By One. Sometimes it is in that order and then the next time I check it has switched to Name Them One By One and then Count Your Blessings!

God Is Good! All The Time!

This probably depends on your sort options...

If you look at the very bottom, you'll see Sort Photos. There are selections for sorting by Filename and other parameters, Timeframe - all of your LO's or within a certain time period, and Ascending or Descending order.

If I look at your gallery, and I choose Ascending for the sort order, I see the Count.....LO first, then Name.....second. If I reverse that, it shows opposite. When you're seeing them in a different order, those sort options are probably different.

Depending on how you enter the gallery - thru a neighbor's personal gallery, or thru a category like Events, Family Life, and then on these sort options, things may appear in different orders.

Let me know if this doesn't help, and I'll have another look!

Sorry, but I am totally confused! I almost always go to My Gallery to view my los. I just went to it after reading your post and the order had changed since just a few minutes ago. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for your help!
Carolyn

I don't think you're doing anything "wrong"....

Go to your gallery. Scroll down to the bottom, below the last pictures, and look at the Sort Photos area. There are three areas with drop down arrows to the right - play with these a bit. Change one, and click on the Sort Now button.....

Particularly, I think the Ascending and Descending options are what you're seeing a change in.....

I opend a thread in open swaps for Angels needed for full and active swaps when someone drops out. Is their anyway to make this stay at the top of the page without someone having to post in it...kinda like the insturctions on how to host a swap or participate in a swap is always one of the top threads??? here is the link
[url=http://www.scrapbook.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=1104722[/url]

Good morning!

At various points, having an "angel" post "sticky" at the top of the thread has been discussed.

The dilemma has been....first, the "sticky" posts tend to be more for static info, that doesn't change....the angel threads, and the RAK threads, are very dynamic. Second, some hostesses prefer to handle "angels" in a different manner...having a "sticky" post may make it seem more official, and give these folks difficulty in finding assistance.

So, at this time, angel posts are welcome...but we've chosen not to make it a permanent "sticky" post.

Hope this helps!

Happy Scrapping! - FT

I cannot download my purchased fonts correctly. I bought 4 of the new ones last week & they downloaded as TEXT files, not the usual PDF files. The downloads email acct just bounces me back an auto-response, not helping the problem. I know HOW to download & it's not me, it's the posted files for download
Can someone help me please??

Did she click on the link in her validation e-mail, and validate her account?

The last step in finishing registration is the e-mail validation - accounts that aren't validated within 24 hours are automatically deleted by the system.

While I *do* see her layout in the gallery, I don't find a username that matches that is still active.....this *looks* like her account wasn't validated within the 24 hour window.

I can also check by the e-mail address that she used to register, and see if the account is still active with that information - you'd need to provide it, tho, as I can't view a profile for that username.

Happy Scrapping!

Unfortunately, she'd need to re-register. Once they're gone, they're gone, and I don't have a way to bring them back.
