Journalling reads: Of all the many decorations that Nan put up each year, these book lights were some of her favourites. They were arranged on one of the wooden cabinets. They were lovely but a real pain, since the bulbs came with a metal clip around them, and the bases were ceramic it was almost guaranteed that when changing the bulbs I would slice, pinch, graze or bruise my hand or arm. Even just plugging them in required an act of brute force and ignorance because I had to punch the back of the cabinet off to thread the wire down to the plug. December 07.
