hidden journaling reads; there is nothing like a "daddy hug", and i love my daddy hug from MY DADDY! he has so many different hugs, but what i remember the most are the emotions that always accompanied the hugs: his reassurance, understanding, love, happiness, comfort, and much more. he always ends his hugs with not what i would call a slap, but a "thump". i can't recall ever receiving a hug from daddy, without the customary thump or two. sometimes, his hugs would be a happy hug: a gentle squeeze that said,"i'm glad to see you." other times, it would be an extremely tight hug, squeezing so tight that it made me grunt; reassuring me that yes, he does love me and cares about me. or the hug at the end of the day that didn't go so well, calming, & soothing me down. i'll never forget the heart wrenching hug on the day i left home, moving to virginia as a bride of just one week, when it seemed neither one of us was ready to let go. today, there is the more gentle hug of a man who is almost ninety, yet he still gives from his heart with each hug....along with a thump or two. even though i was too young to remember this day, as i look at this picture, of me resting in my daddy's arms, i am reminded of the power in a hug...in MY DADDY'S HUG.
this lo was done for the scrappack challenge, where the hostess sends each of us some items, and we have to use it all, adding our own paper, and of course pictues. you can alter anything, to make it work for your layout. we were given a cb letter, a huge flower, tassel, large popcycle stick, ribbon and lace, plus a few other misc items like brads, photo corner and such. i painted my ribbon, cb latter, and popsicle stick. it was a fun and challenging lo.
