This is another LO from our trip to Italy. Journaling reads: As the tour was winding down, we spent a few hours in the beautiful hillside town of Assisi, located in the Umbria region of Italy. Assisi was the home to the famous St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of Italy. We walked to the St. Francis Basilica (built in the 1200s) and toured the upper and lower parts of the church, including the crypt of St. Francis. Surrounding the crypt of St. Francis, people had left pictures and mementos of loved ones that had passed away, which was a touching tribute. Unfortunately, no pictures were allowed inside the crypt. We also stopped to use the restrooms in the church and our picture was taken out the open window in the men's restroom of all places. There were stunning views over the Umbria region from the Assisi hills. Products UsedComments
