I created this simple invitation and matching response card for a friend's upcoming wedding. The inspiration for this style came from a picture the bride had found in a Bridal Magazine. The lettering itself is printed on smooth white cardstock and is matted on blue textured cardstock and "leather" imaged scrapbook paper. I chose to use "leather" scrapbook paper because it presented a much more cleaner look than the random "sand" papers I had found and yet could still apply to the idea of smooth wet sand. The blue cardstock shown is actually darker and richer than shown here; for some reason it came out more teal-like in the photograph. The sand dollar is stamped using copper colored pigment ink. I later went back and used the same ink on the outside edges of the cards to add even more depth. The ribbon shown is ivory satin.
