Wonderful idea, not a sushi fan as I am allergic to sea food but love the idea they have where you pay by the plate, much better than "all you can eat for $, much more fair.
very neat - I've had sushi a few times here and it's very good. But nothing compared to the place of origin. (Loved mango in the Philippines - it's awful up here)
I eat sushi when I am in the states, but it is just never as good as the sushi we get here in Japan. We love these kaiten restaurants where the sushi goes round and round. As the chef makes the sushi, he places each piece on a colored plate, which is then placed on a rotating conveyor belt that winds through the restaurant and moves past every table and counter seat. Diners then simply pick their selections from a steady stream of fresh sushi moving along the conveyor belt. The final bill is calculated based on the number and color of plates of the consumed sushi. Plates with different color, pattern, or shape have different prices, usually ranging from 100 yen to 500 yen. Below the conveyor at counter level, you can see a steady stream of tea cups and soy sauce dishes moving on a separate conveyor.
