Description: These are my paternal grandmother and grandfather. The journaling says: By the 1890's, both the Henry R. Williams family and the Thomas J. Garrett family had migrated to the central Texas county of Milam, the Williamses from Guntersville, Alabama, and the Garretts from Benton, Mississippi.
On July 8, 1906, Cora Elizabeth Williams married Thomas Walter Garrett in Milam County, Texas. Cora was a few days short of 19, and Thomas was 26 years of age. Over the next 40 years they would continue in Milam County, he as a tenant farmer, she as a housewife. They had eight children, six sons and two daughters. All would reach adulthood except James, who died in infancy. (Sorry the picture of the layout is so out of focus. Photography is certainly not my thing! I wish I knew how to scan and stitch.)
