Journaling says: I grew up in Wyoming so I though I was toughened to cold winters. In Wyoming you loved to sit outside in the snow for hours if we would let you. In North Dakota it was a different story. We thought we had it easy until January when the temperature plummented. Suddenly you could barely keep your paws on the frozen ground for more than a few seconds at a time. For the next few months, you refused to brave the cold even with doggie boots (yes, we resorted to doggie boots!) When we forced you to take a potty break, you would take turns holding each poor paw in the frigid air until you were safely indoors again!
