Description: My most precious Grandmother, her name was Vriginia Tennessee and she was a strickingly beautiful woman in her day. She was born almost on the Virginia and Tennessee state border in 1880. That became her very unique name, then add her maden name Woods to it, and I think it was very creative. She was so kind, its one of the things that I remember most about her. But she was also fisty and feared very little. There was nothing this lady would not tackle. She owned a small building that she rented and the fellow came to tell her he had a leak in the roof and it needed to be fixed. She politely told him where the ladder was, and ask him to fetch it for her. He did, and at eighty mind you, she informed him she would see for herself, at that point he had no idea what to do with Miss Jenny. Mr. Leanord told her he would hold the ladder for her while she went up, much to his dislikeing. She gave him a very firm but polite no, that he would go up first so he would not be looking up her skirt tail! Mr. Leanord did as Miss Jenny said. He showed her the leaking spot and they decended down the ladder, Miss Jenny going first. She was quite a spirit in her day and was as kind as she was beautiful. She was a major stableizing factor in my life, I hope if I ever have grandchildren I can be half the woman and Grandmother as she was to me.

thank you for sharing this personal history. I feel like i almost know her. I've been stuck for ideas, not coming up with anything on my own, like I usually do. And this definitely was inspiring & I'm off & running, thanks to you.
