Description: Bill and Vada Holly, the most kind and gentle people I have known in my life. They were all but the poorest of the poor. Yet somehow they always managed to give aid and comfort to those who had less. They had no children of there own, yet they took children that no one wanted, or could not be cared for by there parents. They raised three children until they were of age, and to the best of my Knowledge at least eight off and on for numerous years. Nanny took the poor and the hungrey adults into her home and feed them many times over her lifetime. I wonder if there are people like this around today. Everyone in the community called Vada, Mommy or Nanny and she loved them all. They were truely a blessing to many children in this rural landscape. Nanny finally had a bathroom put in her little house in the late 1970's. They were an unselfish bread of there own, something that we need allot more of these days. They will always have a special place in my heart, and will always be remembered.
