I think you scrapped the photo really well, picking out the red of napkins (I am no expert but appeals to my eye). What I adore is the background, gorgeous bunting (did you staple this?). The blue chevron like arrows underneath compliments it all including your stencilling! Lovely :)

This is me and my mom two months back, having a nice dinner and a glass of wine and enjoying eachothers company. The photo is bad, taken in darkness with my mobile phone. But I don't have many photos with us two together, so I love this one anyway. :)

I made this for April Monthly Sketch Challenge, week 1 (looove this sketch!)! And for AGC.
